Iran '06 has been a particular test of my patience to say the least, late parts, mistakes on my part and others, inexplaniable back orders and way more work than expected

One bright spot. Smokescreen At Stonemountain HD ( see the sponsors link )
has been helpfull with parts of this,
( it's had both of us rubbing our heads once or twice )

One in specific I wanted a race ecm to finish up the deal, I have it on excellent authority that tuber race ecm's will be back ordered for a bit longer, any way
Smoke found one for me, and got me hooked up to get it, SMHD did not "get the sale" but they will be selling stuff to me for a while

Thanks Smoke,
If I'm ever in Lilburn I owe you a cold one..

I second that,

I live local and having a Bueller behind the parts counter helps.

No problem Oldog! Just glad we got you sorted out. It was nothing finding the ECM either, one phone call was all it took. If you would give me a shout when you get your kit to let me know how everything works out.

Jim,
If you want you can have my race ECM from my 1999 X1, I put the stock ECM back in it, I do not know if it will fit your bike, but I think it will, I don't particularly like the way the bike performed with the Race ECM, but I do like the performance with a stock ECM. Ok, well lemme know if you want it.

I would say yes, it does depend on which bike I am riding, last year I rode my springer, the year before that I rode my XB12R, I am currently disintegrating my X1 to powder coat the frame, bore the cylinders and flow the heads, I should have it back together in time, I have some Blue high temp powder coat so we are going to do the header pipes and the exhaust blue, the subframe blue then have white stripes and the pegasus done white, the swingarm and frame will prolly go specular metallic with black chrome topcoat, then we will just polish up the rest of it, if it all goes back together almost as easy as it came apart I will ride that, if not I may ride my lead sled Ultra over just to cruise with some tunes or something..I usually only go for the race, the rest is just an open air bar to me and I don't drink so not much fun. Ok, well if you change your mind and want it send me an email with an address and I will UPS it to you.
later

I just put it back together yesterday and rode about ~8-10 miles it seems to warm up a lot quicker, and it had HI idle (2k) may have been the throttle cables?
I disturbed the intake module by removing the throttle body, to change the TPS and check the shaft condition. After start up I kept having to fiddle with the cables and idle, another other odd thing was that the idle speed osselated up and down about 300 rpm or better, so I wondering about an air leak on the intake.

I kept messing with it and It has settled down but in cool weather it seems to have warmed up quite quickly I'm going to make a ride this afternoon and see how far that it takes to get to ot I know in general terms how far that should be

Dale I hope to see you in Daytona, look for a pm soon

THANKS FOR YOUR GENEROUS OFFER!

Jim..

Oldog, if you need to check for an intake leak, get a propane torch and point it towards the intake while the bike is running. Turn on the torch (without lighting of course) with it pointing at the intake, if there's a change in idle, there's a leak.
