Rocket, I agree. I don't think Rocket should be banned. He's got the right to speak his mind. I may not agree with EVERYTHING HE SAYS. But, so what. No moderator on this site is God, nor is that person perfect. One thing is Rocket doesn't hide behind Anonymous posting. He says it like it is. Rare in this time, I suppose. I also think you are an ass and an attention •••••, and why do I feed in to it by responding? I guess it is because I enjoy the lively debate. However,sometimes I think you say things just to stir the pot and to irritate people who have geniune feelings about the topic of discussion. It seems that you rarely accept anothers point of view, or at least come down to view their perspective and then the debate becomes pointless. It is at those times you go beyond devil's advocate or simple debater and cross the line into being insulting or inflamitory. My $0.02. --Sean | ||

Well, I have been reading most of the posts here for the last 6 months and just hangen in the back. I have seen posts from Rocket and the response back. I would like to get and am wanting all the info for Buell that is offered here. The knowledge that is on Badweb is outstanding. Buell is 1st bike for me and I am totally ate up with it. I cant help it. Quick Board is Quick Board and anything goes. Other areas are more specified and should be used as such. Which I think they are. Everyone should keep giving info and pics and knowledge and fun and ideas that they have. I love it. Quick board is Quick board. If Rocket wants to give his thoughts there thats fine. Expect to get that. Just my 4 cent's from the back. C  | ||

I want to thank Rocket for keeping it real... I love my buell and it handles great but it has limitations like a lot of other bikes.. Maybe I'm not hog wild enough to not see them! Seriously,what's wrong with pointing them out. I thought this was forum for talking about buells? NEWS FLASH your buell isn't as good as you think it is... I know it and admit when another bike is better.. I for one am sick of the "BUELL Holier Than Thow Attitude and the clones who follow" The whole Anonymous posting is getting old and is pretty BUSH! Lets just have a beer and get back to talking about bike.  | ||

I don't mind a debate, even if it is heated, as long as it's respectful. But telling another board member "fu*k you" is crossing a line. Then telling other's who are trying to defuse it to "mind their own business" is just adding fuel to the flames. Buell and Badweb are supposed to represent a certain level of friendship and camaraderie that most people won't find in their everyday lives. People should be able to come here and feel welcome, even if they have a different viewpoint. The name-calling, flaming and spiteful commentary needs to stop. And while Rocket may garner most of the attention in this thread, there are others who are just as much to blame...I've thrown a few choice words at Tramp on more than one occasion :c) But the point is, whether we're Buellers, bikers, or just along for the ride, we all come here for one reason - a love of motorcycles...and the company of friends. Let's try to get back to those values... | ||

I normally do not weigh into the arguing, but I usually do read it for entertainment value. We're all grown folks here, so maybe you guys should be adult enough to go take a walk outside or something for a little while when you get so upset you have to be nasty. We should know better. I'm not saying we should use the old, "only say what you wouldn't mind your preacher hear you say" rule, but we're a family of sorts and should just agree to disagree sometimes. The vast majority of us are men, and our gender has a tendency to let our tetosterone do the talking for us. Being cognizant of that, let's try to meld some maturity into that brass ball cocktail we have a tendency to want to hose around (pardon the pun...no don't pardon the pun; I thought it was funny.) Buells aren't the end all, beat all of the motorcycle industry. They are sold to a nitch market, and they serve their market very well. However, we each though enough of them to buy one (or several) and I am hoping we can use this forum to meet other enthusiasts, trade ideas, share experiences, show off our toys, and yes even vent sometimes. My bike pisses me off too and I don't always agree with what is said here either, plus I always seem to have a wish list of things I'd either like to modify or things I wish it already came with, but all in all I feel privileged to own such a fine machine and consider it's occasional shortcomings just part of owning a high performance vehicle. It's taught me patience and through my ownership experience I have actually learned to appreciate mechanical things much more since my life depends on my ability to be my own mechanic. I've never been responsible for maintaining equipment anything like this before, and the past 1.5 years on my first street bike have changed my life forever. You guys played a part in that too. My Buell experience wouldn't be half what it is were it not for The BadWeb. I've met some wonderful people in person (who have become very important to me) through this site and most of the maintenance and mods I've done to my bike I learned how to do here. You guys are important to me and I appreciate being a part of this group. Rocket I enjoy your posts most of the time, but when you freak out on people it makes me feel sad for you. I'm not saying it's all you as it takes two to start an argument, but I wish whatever's stressing you out in your life would go away. Hang in there bro. | ||

I for one learned alot reading Rockets posts of his cylinder head mounting woes. I say keep him, dem' Brits are a cantankerous bunch! Its just the way they were made. Some day when I grow up, and allowed to leave home, I hope to lift a pint with the man. We all have something to contribute. | ||

You should consider this though. Someone out there is listening to Rocket's rants, and if there's a grain of truth in any of them, maybe your beloved HD or Buell might actually credit me with some sense one day and give you the ride you want because they listened to some of their ranting, pissing, moaning customers. Blake, America bashing? That's a pretty harsh judgement in my opinion. I'd bash my own country if it were warranted. It's ridiculous to stand behind your country no matter what, if its actions are the wrong ones as seen and judged by its people. Why though you think I've bashed America is somewhat beyond me. How would you view your government and its actions if say some person you disliked (and I can think of one) were your president? You can't have it both ways my friend, and you are my friend and I respect that, but I'm not going to go quietly when for example my views are brought to question WITH insults thrown at me. That would be unfair. One last thing. I did tell some recently to 'do one'. No excuse, they deserved it imho. I can't promise it won't happen again though it won't happen often, if at all. If it does though, I promise you one thing. I won't mean it as a long lasting gesture. Maybe an hour tops. It takes an awful lot for me to fall out with people. Peace  Rocket | ||

I have to agree that Rocket can sometimes be gritty, but I have found myself in more than one occasion agreeing with some of his comments. I think that we have to point out the good and bad about Buells or how else is the company going to improve their products and services to better meet our needs in the future. I think Rocket adds the spark to debate and when in moderation that's a good thing. I think we all can get upset and resort to name calling. I just try to sensor myself when I get that way, sometimes I succeed. I say Rock on Rocket, Badweb just would not be as fun with out you. (Message edited by M2nc on January 30, 2007) | ||

As has been already stated by others, he's entertainment... much like watching a train wreck, or daytime television, or even American Idol. It's not pretty but you can't help but watch. I disagree with Rocket on 99.6% of all non-motorcycle discussions. He disagrees with me on 100% of all non-motorcycle discussions. I don't really give a rat's a$$ and I'd wager neither does he. Even with the 'America Bashing' unless he violates a specific badweb rule I say let him stay. For others that may have a problem with Rocket my advice is this: Don't talk to him. If he bothers you that much: Don't talk to him. Don't respond to him. It's simple. Communication requires at least two. Read what he's said and move on. Don't give him the power to piss you off. See simple! For Rocket: Good luck. Enjoy your bike. Take a nap occasionally. Get laid. Don't take the internet so seriously. Talk to you later. (maybe) | ||

While ROcket's posts skirt the letter of the board's agreement, he is so far from the only one that banning him would, logically, either: 1 result in the banning of so many other members as to become foolish, or 2 limiting the action to Rocket would illustrate hypocrisy to an extreme I do not think most of the membership and managment of the board would be comfortable with. Rocket's done nothing other's havn't (although perhaps more consistantly), although they have not suffered -- let it be, would be my opinion that said, the existance of this thread in and of itself illustrates a degree of belly-button study rivaled by that only of the mainstream media, or Hollywood -- kinda sad | ||
