Tonight it was announced that in the next 2 years, Buell is going to enter the dirt bike market! This is not a secret and i am not a blabbermouth. Very cool and upbeat Buell meeting tonight. Packed room. I have NEVER seen that many people at Buell meeting during a dealer meeting. Standing room only! I really think that many dealers, now realizing that the waiting list days for HD are over and looking to Buell to add business, profit and new customers to their dealerships. This is all good for the Buell riders and Buell company. Congrats to Erik and his team! |

Awesome! I've been wanting to add a dirt bike to my collection. Hope they've got something for the 30" inseam crowd though. The Ulysses was a disappointment for me in that respect. It's too darn tall for me to ride it! Otherwise I'd already have one in addition to my Lightning cg. All I ask is to be able to put a toe down on each side. |

I remember 10 years ago when Cannondale made a dirt bike. I don't think they ever went into full production. What other American motorcycle is still making dirtbikes? ATK is all I can think of. |

Man, can't wait to see what Buell does with a dirt bike. It doesn't seem like an obviously natural progression to me, though. Wonder what made Buell choose this the direction (success of the Uly?). Maybe I can be part of a BadWeb-backed Baja team, I have already co-driven and been a part of a winning team in a truck. I better start learning how to ride in the dirt. --Sean |

Cannondale- I have the hat, was ready to buy one, then......gone. ATK bought the remaining inventory and rebadged them as ATK. Yes a Buell dirtbike! Time to sell the CRF |

Riding the bendy and dirty now! CityX is three inches lower than the uly when properly equipped with the Scg seat Club moto: Ride Naked; Play Dirty. I am sure the engineers would be shocked and aghast at the stuff I make my CityX do. See pic for profile; TT be damned. Actually I like the TT, but my mods that are coming ate my deposit for that bike. 5-6 29 inch inseam |

This is a good direction for Buell. The Uly was their coming out bike and a lot of people have expressed interest in a Buell dirt bike or Blast variant single dual sport. I hope they continue to think outside the box. I want a lighter more dirt oriented compliment to my Uly. I should have the Uly paid off in two years, I'll be waiting. |

Is the new bike going to be belt driven? What size motor? I can't wait to see what develops. |

Personally, I think they need to develop their street bikes. I wish them luck though. I hope that isn't the big news for the 25th. |

A Buell based dirt bike sounds cool, but can we keep it street legal? The only dirt out here in the burbs are lawns and golf courses and I wouldn't want to break any laws on my way to the back 9! |

This could be exciting. They are stepping into a market that has some very innovative players with very developed machines at this time. It's really an exciting time in the dirt market. I'm sure BMC has considered the drain of resources from it's road bike R&D; I hope so. |

I'd like at this point to take some credit for Buell taking virgin steps in telling the world what is coming in the next two years. I'm absolutely certain my criticisms, some most recent, of Buell for behaving secretly about their future models has obviously had Buell rethink their strategy when dealing directly with their fans and customers. Can I get a thank you, or at least some acknowledgement from an anonymous, as Blake is running me off the board for these very same criticisms of mine that I see as working. Thank you. A men. >>>Standing room only! That was "as planned". This was a marked, well planned and executed glimpse at a new strategy. More will be revealed. To think Buell was motivated by anyone's whining, pissing and moaning is akin to thinking that a dog howling at the moon impacts it's orbit. Not ever on the radar screen. There are some incredible things in Buell's future. . . it's a damn good time to be a Buell owner. Court |

I'm with Rocketsprink's comment. I'd like to see another street bike. I'll be ready within a year to buy a new bike. If Buell doesn't have something that I like its time to try Pasta. |

It's funny the way life can work out. I suspect Mr. Buell's first choice would be making race bikes. Yet he keeps venturing further and further from race bikes, and keeps getting more successful with them. It will be interesting to see what this new dirt bike looks like. |
