I rode my friend's 950 Adventure a few years back. If the engine in the SuperDuke is half as sweet as that engine (and I suspect it's even BETTER) that's going to be one hell of a bike!

Oldog - The guys on Adventure Rider www.advrider.com have a page called Orange Crush that is dedicated to KTM. They are the Badwebbers of KTM.

The guys that ride KTM are just as emphatic about them as we are about Buells. There is allot to love about KTM so I can see why. I thought that the 990cc motor has not been approved for US, has that changed? The only scary trait that KTM has is water pump leaks and failures. I have heard some real horror stories about coolant getting into the oil and causing premature engine failures. There must be something to it because Motorcycle.com did a comparison last year of six adventure-touring bikes and the KTM water pump was leaking on day one.

But I have been told by so many on this forum that water-cooling is no less reliable than air cooling... Sorry, shoudln't have gone there...

KTMs are beautiful machines, and I'd love a chance to ride one.

Take a look here http://www.superduke.net/forum/index.php
This is a Superduke only site and has lots of very useful information.

The issues with blown head gaskets only affected early Adventure models and has been resolved on later twins. The only other major complaint of the SD was of glitchy fuel injection at low speeds, but again this has been addressed on the new 2007 models.

By the way, if you get one and decide you want some parts, take a look at our 'other' web site ;)
