Nothing sinister in my post, just a good chuckle. Air America Radio presents a different spin on things by dispensing views that are both progressive and liberal. The following T-shirts are no longer to be worn on or off base by any military or civilian personnel serving in the Middle East: "Eat Pork Or Die" [both English and Arabic versions] "Shrine Busters" [Various. Show burning minarets or bomb/artillery shells impacting Islamic shrines. None of us can imagine what the President has in his head in these days. I trust President Bush based on his career and cabinet. I did not vote for him based on his intellectual speaking style like gore or kery. I basically voted on him because I knew he had the most testosterone and had good connections and solid plan for America. Another reason was I knew it would anger hippies and such the like if he was elected. Mike Tyson made an ass out of himself when he talked but he was a warrior. We need warriors right now not seal saving lesbians who drive hybrids. | ||

I've never met the President but I've been told by two people who have he is very affable and not tongue tied in person. Say what you will about his policies, I've always thought the "idiot" label was unfair. Locally, we have a newspaper columnist who writes beautifully but when he is on talk radio he stutters and struggles to convey his thoughts and he is by no means stupid. | ||

I feel let down by "trickle down economics",but am still a staunch supporter of GW.Haven't seen anyone else i'd trust with the job...Just my ignorant machinist laborer's two cents. I'll vote for McCain in '08.He seems the only one committed to finishing the fight.All the Dems wanna run home with their tails between their legs.It's about keeping a stable source of oil.The radicals will disrupt that.And a disruption will end our way of life. | ||

Frank, If discussing politics is why you are here, I strongly suggest you find another discussion board more appropriate to that subject. This is a Buell motorcycle enthusiasts' discussion board. The "Dealing with jihad" thread, as requested repeatedly and then ignored repeatedly, is for posting news related to the war and to support our military and others overseas who are putting themselves on the line for us. Unless you and others can honor that simple request, the thread will remain closed. | ||

No one, no matter who they are or what they ride or whether they ride or not or participate on BadWeB or not, need submit to my way of thinking. We simply ask participants here to honor the terms of use to which they agreed when registering on BadWeB. If you want to criticize me personally, that's fine too, but please start another topic--actually one already exists somewhere in the archives--on that subject. All of us should try to remember that if we cannot rationally debate the issues themselves we should avoid posting. Too many comments in threads like this end up being ad-hominem instead of about the topical issue(s). Posting that kind of content is a violation of board policy. That kind of divisive miserableness leads to serious problems and a severe degradation of the decorum in this online community of Buell enthusiasts. We'd really like to avoid that. 2 things I found interesting in the State of the Union speech. ( I read the script, while I watched a re-run of Eureka, watching the power games played during the speech irritate me, & I can read it in a fraction of the time. ) Both, I admit, were pointed out by a radio/tv talking head. 1 Congress was asked to double the size of the Strategic petroleum reserve. This reserve was used by previous admin's, to smooth out short term hikes in gas prices, for short term political kudo's, and was drawn down & cut back a lot during the 90's. It's been getting filled back up since late 2001. 2 Iran was mentioned as being responsible for killing Americans. Leading me to believe a new front may open in the war. Also Saudi Arabia is working to lower oil prices, a move that looks to be to screw both Iran & Russia, who play power games with oil. So? I dunno. Also... Most State of the Union (Sotu) speeches are full of "we must fix X" with X being education, Social security, etc. Seldom is anything done. Our govt. is made of many committees, which slows change. ( thank goodness, sometimes, for that. ) The last Sotu promise that was kept, was made by William Jefferson Clinton in 1999. He called for Saddam to be kicked out to prevent him from aiding terrorism & making WMD's. This took some few years & a different administration, but did happen. You go Bill. |
