Yup, thats a different order then I just got 'em. Blake, make sure you have flash installed (latest version) and enabled. And try it with IE instead of firefox (or vice versa) if you have trouble. I really like two of the current top three. Some very cool work there. |

Thanks Blake! Is that "outside of the airbox"? I wish! I had fun with it, in any case. I don't get enough time to just play with this kind of stuff anymore... Wrong36 - that's a great skeleton - would probably look all the better in real life size (kinda hard to see the details on my screen). Some of the designs (mine included) wouldn't fair as well at full scale. My new favorite is over in the design competition thread on the XBoard, but its not in the final 10 - oh well. I'll still vote because I think that the contest is/was a bold move on Buell's part, and deserves the attention. Joanne |

Nuts it's not that we are all sore losers it's the principle of it all. The helmet design contest didn't bring out all of the hard feelings we all feel. Plus it's a lot of fun in a sadistic way. |

Lady I didn't do the stucco one. Mine is the morbid one buell didn't want to build because the bike would be cursed causing it's riders having they brains spilled over. What I was really trying to create was the idea that I always have "buell on the brain" Owning this bike has become a true passion. But I just whipped it up and didn't think of it all much.

If I was insulting, I'd have said your attempt was a poo stain on the underwear of life. Seriously, its not that bad. (Message edited by buellinachinashop on January 10, 2007) |

I really like the zebra one too - a horse of a different color fits a Buell! Isham, sorry, I thought it was stucco, and the brains were guts, which is kinda morbid too, I guess. I like your concept, just a tough one to "flesh out," if ya know what I mean... Wrong36, I saw the larger image; just was saying I'd like to see it full-scale, as in real life ON a bike! I like how it wraps around the bike. I wonder how the chrome one would fair in real life on a bike... Our minds are good at interpreting 2D screen images into 3D - would it work as well in real life? It would be interesting to see. Do you think its a photo that's been morphed into the shape or original artwork? Joanne |

Joanne- On the chrome one, for which I voted for, I think the idea was for it to be a reflection, so it is not actually chrome but more of picture of where he/she has been/is going? I wanted to do the same thing but my scenes were different-I was going from city scenes to wide open spaces...I THINK that is what they were trying to do, isn't that is what art's all about though, everyone has thier own interpretation Thus I thought it was original. You might be right, could look odd sitting somewhere, say in this instance downtown. Would be pretty neat if he/she had it parked in the street and it looked exactly the same! |

Yup, chrome is a misnomer, but you knew what I meant. As to its originality, stock images/photos, as long as they're not simply cut and pasted, and as long as they don't violate copyrights (and hopefully the original source is cited) seems reasonable to me. I think this entry took either a photo or artwork and changed it enough that it meets my definition of original artwork (but I'm obviously not a lawyer!) Haven't seen yours, but going from city scenes to wide open spaces sounds like a great idea, although maybe tough to do? Actually, I wasn't thinking about how it would look in different surroundings, just wondering if the 2D image would look right on a 3D object... Its just one of those things that you can't test out on a computer because our minds automatically translate it for us. Even with a 3D cad system, fully able to rotate it, its somehow not the same because you're looking at it on a flat screen. Don't know if that makes any sense to anyone... |

That's why none of mine got done! I wanted to put 3D type images onto 2D stuff and couldn't get it to layout properly, then to transfer that to corel was driving me nuts I took the mentioned one above as to mean they lived in the burbs and it was a reflection of where thier bike was at, or from in a sense, but thinking about now, maybe not... |

If I could, I'd vote for the #7 entry, the one with the clouds and road/yellow lines. Very cool. |

I dunno. I must have messed with my browser settings. None of the pictures are showing up for me, just blank white squares with the entry numbers and "VOTE" buttons. |

How hard is it to do that chrome/lens effect in photoshop or Fireworks? |

Not that hard at all. EDIT: looking closer at it, I don't think it was a PS effect or filter, it looks like drawn art that may have been warped to fit the parts. (Message edited by buellinachinashop on January 11, 2007) |

I think its drawn artwork too, but hard to tell, as that effect can be emulated. I know Corel has the capability to do that effect and lots of others; unfortunately I don't know how to tap into half of what it can do... Hope everyone's voting even if your personal favorites aren't in there. Too bad they don't have a write-in candidate But I can imagine the can of worms that would open... Joanne |

I could make one by "whiting out" a bike in Photo Shop that you'd like to try. Say the word. |

I wish my hand hadn't been broken while all this was going on. My ideas may not have won, but I bet one of them would have gotten a little attention anyway...
