That's what I call a one in a million shot!!!

Now if that could just happen to Jimmie Johnson in every race in '07, I'd be ecstatic!!!

So, does the driver have to actually cross the finish line, or just the car? What about just part of the car? I think that tire really wanted to finish the race.

I had a similar tire issue on a dirt track car several years ago. I got hit on the left rear as my tire was spinning at about 70mph, it broke the wheel studs off and launched the rear of my car into the air.

When it came back down I saw my tire and wheel bounce over a fifty foot high retaining fence into a parking lot. That tire and wheel weighed about 45lbs. It beat the crap out of at least eight cars bouncing around like a giant billiard ball! I was just glad there were no spectators out there.

That would have made a fun video. I was also glad the track owners said I wasn't responsible for the resulting mess!

Hmmm.. The only problem I saw was that it just didn't have the turning radius needed to negotiate that last bend.. Would that be a .. uh.. suspension problem?

That was great!
