Okay...that adds another dimension to my first question.

Would you be offended if folks wanted to talk about their HD's on this board? In another area, of course.

I wouldn't be offended at all. I think it's a great idea!

I'd love to see it Pammy.

I have a '97 FXD, and really like the people and environment here.

I'm a one bike guy by choice and economics, no longer have a Buell, but unless they run me off I'm here for the long run.

Harley-Davidsons are cool.They don't go,they don't turn,and they don't stop.Lots to talk about.That's why nobody can just leave them stock.

Every bike has it's limitations. Some more than others.
The best bike for you is the bike you like best, not the bike your buddy or aquaintance or neighborhood bully likes best.
Personal preference, befitting ones own lifestyle, is the key.
I, myself hold absolutely no predjudice toward any motorcycle. They are all good, in their own light, in my book.

My goal in this thread is to highlight a possible need for another branch on this Badweb tree. Simple azzat.

Pammy...Great idea.

Seems we tossed this around a time or two before and nothing materialized.

Sure would be great if it did this time as I have yet to find a comparably decent Harley website.

Okay, Outrider, we have a name!

Geezer Glides Forever! Forever Geezer Glides!

We need a new patch, "GGFFGG".

In all seriousness, I fully enjoyed the capabilities of my M2 but did not use them to the fullest. That is my nature and it did not diminish the enjoyment one bit.

I've found that I get around the same places at about the same clip on the FXD and have been slowly exploring the limits a little.

While the FXD it is clearly a less "flickable" ride, I quickly learned that planning ahead and using a little more countersteering will let you get around okay.

I'm still working on getting the front braking where I want it. And maybe some day we can talk about it in a Geezer Glide Forum?

I'm willing to bet that anyone here who has never ridden a Dyna would have something good to say about it after a test ride. And I'm also willing to bet that for many of the youngsters, it is only a matter of some more years before Geezer Glides start to make more sense.

I have interests in both camps. IMHO, it's a good idea.

I had a very good FXRT, rode it almost a quarter million miles, eventually sold it to get into Buells, but still have some parts for sale.

Harleys are what brought me to Buell. Sportster is as big as I will go myself. But the FXDX around the track was an absolute hoot. There will always be things to change and adjust, it is the nature of the beast. But I am happy as hell to have a bike that hits the dirt as well as the pavement and not worry about rattling off the chrome.
