Yeah Ken...we'd kicked around a thread to two already about Seminole Buell.

Many of us have talked to Gilbert there and have tried to nudge him in the right direction (knowledge, in stock parts, etc.).

We'll see how it goes.

Oh yeah....for you local Buell folks, we meet at my Barnie's Coffee location in Baldwin Park on Wednesday nights from 6-8.

We serve the usual fare of coffee drinks as well as beer and wine. We also serve sandwiches, soups and other hot appetizers, so bring your appetite.

PM me if you need directions. The address of the shop is 4846 New Broad St. in Orlando. Check out our thread in Storm Front for more specific info - Orlando Buell Riders.

Ken, don't take this the wrong way, but there are a lot of site sponsors that pay a lot of money to do their advertising on this site. There are a lot more of us that work at dealerships that are not able to advertise on this site out of respect for the paying sponsors and the administrators.

Erik,

I'm assuming you believe Ken to be an employee of the store - I see he registered today and then posted about the store, so you might be correct.

UPDATE - found the other 2 posts Ken made today are also announcements for the store. Busted! Good job Ken - you have just alienated the folks here that might have been inclined to stop in.

Thanks Eboos. Not really "a lot of money", but just enough to keep the place up and running and to fund ongoing improvements. Just $58/mo for a one year commitment. : ) We'd welcome more support from more enthusiastic Buell dealerships. Thanks Eboos. : )

Ken,

Since I didn't say it before, Welcome to BadWeB! You have email. : )

Based upon your comments above, some clarification may be in order. "WASNT AWARE I HAD TO BE A SPONSOR TO POST ANYTHING"

You don't need to be a sponsor "to post anything." You do need to be a sponsor to promote, advertise or market a commercial venture here.

You're "Caps Lock" is on. In web-speak, that indicates shouting. Pretty sure you aren't meaning to convey that tone, but it's also just easier for folks to read lowercase compared too all uppercase.

Please review the terms of use to which you agreed when signing on to use BadWeB.

The more Buell enthusiasts the better. : )

Ken:

Slow down and take a deep breath . . . this is really a lot friendlier crowd than the initial appearance may indicate.

The territorial thinking is borne out of a couple rough experiences we've had with shady folks, not out of lack of enthusiasm. I'm betting you, short of actual "advertising" (I have ____ for sale, showcasing specials, etc) can toot your horn about as loud as you wish. The site generally supports the effort to improve the Buell dealer network.

In addition, a wise dealer can learn much here. The Buell dealer network is fairly weak presently, with much room for improvement. You'll find, among the Badweb sponsors, some of the best dealers in America. If your manager howls at you for spending time on line.....tell him one of the dealers hear sold over $250,000 worth of TNT (trash n' trinkets) last year. If he sneezes at that, go sell Amway.

Long and short of it. . . relax, tell us about your gig and welcome.

Sorry if you feel you got jumped, but this is a common problem with sponsor-supported forums. I was actually a lot milder than the reception you might have gotten on some other motorcycle forums in this regard. I am certainly willing to start over if you would like to introduce yourself and participate in the forum according to the terms of use. I will apologize in advance if I have misjudged.

However, your reluctance to identify whether you are affiliated with the business in question just leads to more questions.

If you are new to the internet, joining an online community and then exclusively posting self-promoting notices is considered rude and will be referred to as "spamming" by most.

Welcome Ken,

I think you will find a lot of people from all over the country are going to be very
interested in how your shop does as a stand alone Buell dealer. Many here have been
advocating the separation of Buell and H-D sales floors for a long time.

I live in Missouri, but I know I'll be watching what happens very intently in hopes
that your shop is the model for the future of Buell sales and service : )

It's only fitting that the only stand-alone buell shop becomes a BWB sponsor.

I have the perfect place for one.

Oops!

Don't get all excited Swampy. They are a HD dealer too.
Still have to be a HD dealer to be a Buell dealer.

If I recall, wasn't Modesto Buell the first stand alone Buell shop? Yes, just down the road from their big brother shop at Modesto H-D.

Yes, it was.
I believe Cycle Connection in Joplin also had a stand alone Buell store for a while.
There was one in Canada that Deeley owned.
Uke's kind of had one but turned into the dirt bike KTM store and moved the Buells back into the main dealership.

I stopped by the shop tonight on the way to dinner. I saw 5 staff and not one said a word to me or my wife the whole time we were there. Not another soul in the place. Quiet as a church almost making it uncomfortable for us to look around. At least they could have said Hi or Bye. Not Cool. Many more Harleys than Buell but still more Buell clothes than in any other shop I've seen. Great concept however they need to be more friendly to people coming in to their business. For now I'll stick with Daves for my parts.

Good to know about Ken as I just mapped it from the house I am looking to rent. 52 miles isn't so bad, especially if you take care of us. I could think of a lot worse places to advertise than Badweb, and I bet you will get more for your money than Blake makes from the deal. GOOD LUCK, Larry.

Just as an FYI for those local to the new Seminole Buell location in Fern Park. We'll be meeting there this coming Wednesday evening at 6 instead of our usual get-together at my Barnie's location in Baldwin Park.

I spoke with Ken Barner yesterday and he invited any and all of us to come up to meet his staff and tour the joint.

PM me if you have any questions or need directions.
