Slowly those that run our Country are starting to change their minds about the war on drugs.

I taught the Federal Prosecutor that runs the DC office how to paraglide and had several talks with him about many different issues. He thinks the war on drugs is a waste of money/time and calls it "The war on stupid people". Sadly, he does not think it is ever going to change due to the tremendous industry that has been built fighting it.

Same reason we do not have a flat tax. To many people making to much money supporting the existing convoluted system.

Change is complicated.

Well someone screwed up a set then.
They come from Buell either as a set of 3(sidebags and topcase) or a set of 2(side bags) and are keyed the same.
Someone, grabbed a set of bags and then a topcase that went with other bags for.
Glad you got it fixed.

Hey Dave.....even if our taxes weren't reduced, don't you think there are better causes for our money?

Just a thought.}

If we get to kill all the drug users can we also get all the people on welfare, social security, smokers (they're going to die anyway), people on death row (they're on death row! so hurry up would ya!!) Oh hell lets just kill everyone that may become a burden on my tax dollar.......

I guess my point is where does it stop then?
The Gov't would find some new way to waste the money.

I have not read the book. There is no way they could poison all the drugs anyway. No sooner than they can stop their use.
I remember back in high school when the US Govt went into Mexico and sprayed 1000's of gallons of chemicals on the Mexican pot crop.
Didn't change anything. People just bought different pot and a lot a of Thai Stick and Hashish instead.
Whatever they poisoned, people would just do a different drug or make their own.
They might just go to drinking since that is legal.

So the crackhead that just busted up Corporatemonkey's bike might instead have a car that he can use to drive around stoned?

Individuals should have the right to use drugs, whether for medical or recreational purposes, without fear of legal reprisals, but must be held legally responsible for the consequences of their actions only if they violate others’ rights.

Let's just let the meth labs produce all they can.
These meth labs are only in business because drugs are illegal. Because there is a high demand for the product black market industry prospers. This INCREASES the amount of crime associated with manufacturing and distribution.

Get rid of the users, get rid of the crime. Easy enough.
It is not easy enough.
You will never get rid of the users.
Purposeful cultivation of drug plants is thought to have started during the neolithic period, somewhat after 7000 B.C.

You guys crack me up. I will have to say this has been the most interesting thread hijack I have read in a long time. We should do this more often.

Wolfridgerider - I TOTAL agree with you... Kill em all, let God sort them out...

Now for the update. I called this dealer this morning, surprise surprise they were not busy. I took the bike in, I just made it. The low fuel came on as I got on the freeway. It was not the best feeling to see that light.

Anyhow I asked them how they were going to get the cap out, they didn't know, but I lucked out, in a sad way.
Just before I got there another Buell xb was brought in. Turns out another crackhead took that one. He went for a week long joyride absolutely trashing the bike. They found it with a snapped (04) belt, laying by the side of the road. It had been there for days. It was such a sad sight.
From what I gathered the insurance company was trying to get it fixed (it looked totaled to me).
Funny enough it had the exact same damage to the gas cap. They were trying different methods to remove the cap, all on the insurance company time.

When they found what works, they will try my bike, and hence the shop fee should be much less.

I asked about ordering just a replacement gas cap. It was around $50. A whole new lock set (ignition, cap, seat lock) was only $110. I figured I really didn't want 2 keys, so I have opted for the set. They are using their last in stock set on the other Buell, so they have ordered me a set. It should be here in a week. In the mean time they found a nice spot on their second floor to store my bike.
Between the lock set, and labor this is not going to be cheap, but I feel this what must be done to set things right.

I will have to give a shout out to DowntownHD for their outstanding work. They showed great patience with me even though I may have been a little edgy. I have been able to sleep in several days (insomniac)
If you are ever in Seattle I would definitely recommend stopping by to say hi. Kevin (the Buell tech) is very competent, he builds all of the dealer sponsored race bikes.

All in all the day is looking better, but I am still on the hunt for crackheads...

What about "Bum Fights" that was the original. Although personally I thought the films were horrible they did prove a point.

You can get rich off the misery of others

I have learned on my short time on this planet that you can't leave anything out. Somebody will mess with it.

Woody, it is not Buell's fault my bike was vandalized, they shouldn't have to pay.

As for a NRA sticker. While I am personally a fan of what the NRA stands for. Living in Seattle, advertising that would most likely get my bike kicked over.

I might as well put a Bush '04 sticker on it...

Woody, I had to laugh at the 12 page form. I'm in NH, the form is 1 page with no pictures and I only have to fill out 2 pages for Ma and send two pics with it.
Mass knows how to bend it's residents over, huh?

My next renew may be more than that. $20 for NH Resident for 2 or 3 years (can't remember) but Mass wants to go to $500 for 5 year non resident (ouch). I'll still renew in Ma though as I do a lot of lonely nights on call in the Lawrence area. Anywhere north of the river in Lawrence sucks at 2am, even the police don't like going there.

I have thought about the Xena alarm, I can't seem to get a straight answer on how sensitive it is.

I was thinking of getting one of these, but I have not seen a review on it.

I posted a thread asking about it in the KV, but I really don't think anyone goes there

sniper.bmp (38.9 k)

1500 yds.bmp (57.7 k)
this would really make me rethink what i was doing.

There is an easy answer, legalise drugs but with massive taxes on it, that way you have more control over the market, less policing costs & easy prosecution for tax evasion on the the bad guys; plus it reduces the national tax burden.

Sorry about your bike, is there no way you can get it indoors or park it securely?

Grumpy, as someone who lives among the drug war, I totally agree with you.

As for the bike it is still at the shop. Part are slow coming, but I am not worried our weather here has been less than ideal.
I do have it in a private garage. It is shared, but the only access is through a gate. Sometimes people sneak in after a car just looking for a warm place to sleep/die.
