My original thread got swallowed up by the archive, but I wanted to give an update.

I just got the bike back... Yes it took over a month and no it is not fixed...

But I can't blame the dealer for this. It turns out the dealer ordered the entire lockset, well BMC twice sent out the incorrect parts.

When they ordered it for the third time BMC placed the items on backorder. ETA, no one knows.

But in the mean time the dealer felt so bad about the delay they took a cap off one of the showroom bike, and loaned it to me. When the part come in they will call and I have them installed.

As a bonus since the shop was a little quiet, they took the time to perform a oil change (syn3), lubed my cables, and other basic maintenance stuff. They even detailed my bike while it was there. Best part, since I was on fumes when I arrived at the dealer, they filled up my tank with premium.

Charge to me, nothing.

Don't try to tell my some Buell dealers are not committed to their customers.

Update: found the old thread, i forgot where I posted it

don't know why your dealer couldn't find that out for you.
It is right on HDnet?

Hmmm..The real question is would they have done that if they were not busy and the guys were not all standing around?

Best $6.00 they could have spent to make a guy happy.

Glad to hear they at least took a try at making someone happy. I still DO NOT like/trust stealerships personally. But this is just MY opinion. One good thing does not make up for the amount of negitives they do. IMO

I don't know if would have done everything if they were busy, but I have had my bike serviced just before Sturgis the busiest time for them. I got good service then too.

Question for you, would you trust your bike with Daves?

I am not saying all dealers are great, but when you find one that goes out of their way for a customer, they have earned a little respect in my book.

More like $10 , but remember they didn't have to do it. It is the little things that can mean a lot.

Daves, I picked up the bike before the parts guy arrived. They offered to have the parts guy contact me to fill me in on what was going on (the back order situation). I just told them to call me when the part is actually there.

Never met DaveS just talked to him, BUT YES I WOULD trust them to do a good job. BUT only cuz I know daveS would make sure all was done CORRECTLY, NOT because I trust the service crew.(yet)

It is the little things that can mean a lot.

This is also true when they mess up them "little things".

It's especially important to try and find a good dealer for some us. For instance, I have the same amount of mechanical skills that I do basketball -- none. I hurt myself replacing light switches in the house (fuse box? What fuse box?)and believe that power tools are simply ways to make me bleed faster and longer than handtools. It's good to know there are still some decent folk servicing out there. I wish there were more.
