Yeah, ok, maybe I'm stirring the pot. Like badweb doesn't have enough religious/political arguments going on. Has anyone seen this poll: http://www.quickdfw.com/home/usaworld/stories/quick122906bushpoll.30fbf87.html BIGGEST VILLAIN George W. Bush: 25 percent Osama bin Laden: 8 percent Saddam Hussein: 6 percent Mahmoud Ahmadinejad: 5 percent Kim Jong Il: 2 percent Donald Rumsfeld: 2 percent Others mentioned included John Kerry, Rosie O'Donnell, Dick Cheney, Hillary Clinton, Tom Cruise and Oprah Winfey (all 1 percent). BIGGEST HERO George W. Bush: 13 percent U.S. soldiers in Iraq: 6 percent Oprah Winfrey: 3 percent Barack Obama: 3 percent Jesus Christ: 3 percent Bono: 2 percent Others mentioned included Angelina Jolie, Al Gore, Mel Gibson, George Clooney and Donald Rumsfeld (all 1 percent). WTF is wrong with people? Oprah over Jesus Bush worse than Kim Jong Il??
Is America truly THAT DAMN CRAZY??? Aghhhh... |

Read the other post.....What is right with America.... That is plain silly, I have griped for a long time that people would rather worship T.V. than God. T.V. Rots your brain and makes you believe things that are not real. Sure am glad I got me a bike to keep me occupied. |

You got that right New12r, TV is evil. I'd sooner worship it than a god. But that's just me. I picked Oprah over Jesus. But I like a girl with a little junk in the trunk. You gotta remember Mike, 27% of America doesn't believe in Jesus. More believe in Oprah. |

OK logically speaking: 100% - 27% = 73% DO believe in Jesus. I doubt that figure is correct but it doesn't really matter here. The Jesus vs. Oprah part wasn't nearly as surpising to me as the Bush vs. Hussein vs. Bin Laden section. Honestly, as much as most Americans dislike Bush, can they really believe he is worse then Ahmadinejad? On another side note: I killed my TV 4 years ago and don't miss it a bit. Now I'm just wasting time online.

Americanmadexb at the risk of possibly stirring the pot some more: its not Americans who are disliked elsewhere...it's your politics & in politicians that do you, as an american individual a dis-service. given that George W doesnt even have the support of 100% of americans, stop and think about that for a minute. |

Ulendo: but no president EVER has had the support of 100% of Americans. Roosevelt during WWII probably had the most unilateral support. But this isn't about support, or whether other countries like/dislike us. Hypothetical: Tomorrow morning 100% of Americans wake up and realize they hate Bush. EVERY American thinks he's stupid, dishonest, crooked, and that his mother dresses him poorly. Would all of that matter to villify him as worse the Bin Laden, Kim Jong, Saddam, and Ahmadinejad. No. Even if the 25% polled thought Bush was actually Evil vs. Incompetent,to rank Bush's inadequacies as worse then that lot is to minimize how truly evil they are. I'd like to know the area codes that they used for their telephone poll. |

I have trouble believing a news media that mis-represents the realities of what is really going on. The USA media isn't as bad as the Canadian media. I have trouble with a religion that promote the killing of non-believers. Until the world understands that, we are basically screwed. |

I have trouble believing a news media that mis-represents the realities of what is really going on all the news thats fit to print, and nothing more. Media is a business, first, and foremost. The USA media isn't as bad as the Canadian media ?? if thats a dig at 'me' don't bother, 'cause I'm not Canadian. As for the Canadian Media, they're monitored considerably more closely than their US counterparts, plus most Canadian's follow more than just 'Canadian' media. You want to see control of information via the media, ask yourself WHY the US contingent asked the canadian military to remove allied but 'foreign' correspondent 'embeds'in iraq, and Afghanistan? ( british, dutch, german, and italian media had their embeds revoked at the request of the US special forces contingent) - back to my saw about govt policy, vs individuals (Message edited by ulendo on December 31, 2006) |
