in a booth. at the PRI show in orlando (performance racing industry) with 1400 exhibitors, 1 million square feet of exhibits, and 42000 registered buyers (trade only). for a company called staubli.

i was, ahem, the director of marketing for a race team based out of ohio and colorado, that races midget cars : )

random, and way cool to see it at a totally unexpected place. although, i may have been the only person there that knew what it was : (

The show is HUGE !!!!

From the PRI Show website
"How big is the PRI Trade Show?
1,000,000 square feet. 1,400 companies exhibit in 4,000 booths. It is attended by 42,000 racing business people from over 40 countries. Buyers will appreciate the ease with which they can shop the PRI Trade Show. Located in same, state-of-the-art Convention Center as last year, all of the exhibits are in one hall, on one floor. Plan to spend all three days. To view the floor plan, and find locations of exhibiting companies, go to Floorplan page."

http://www.performanceracing.com/content/?id=2599& MenuID=2599

We have name tags with company name and info. There's even a magnetic strip on the tag that you swipe at the booth to get on the vendor's mailing list. I still lugged a couple of bags of catalogs each day.

I saw it at one point too... Some place called Daytona Intl. Speedway. Go figure, it was right outside a garage (of all the places to put a racebike... sheesh...) and some guy in a shirt that said "Warrs" across the back snapped the pic with my cellphone. I was really worried he'd book with my cell but I talked to him afterwords and he turned out to be a pretty decent guy for an Englishman... ;)

That was just about 20 minutes before it was turning timed laps in the 200 BTW : ).

Yeah... They were ticked when I brought it back. Something about "Now we won't have enough fuel for the race" or something. Good thing the bikes broke and let me off the hook though ;).

OK, sorry, it was most certainly NOT a good thing that the bikes broke... I was a bit heart broken myself. After talking to Erik just 15 minutes or so before the race and to then see that disappointment after the race. To a man though, every person in that garage had more of a look of "How do we fix that" instead of "Damnit, we came all this way..." or anything negative. They were certainly dismayed, but you could tell what sort of spirit Buell racing has. I just wish they had the money.

M1,

I remember that day.

Had a great time. Are you making it to FL or MBIV this year?

I'd like to make it to Daytona this year but I may end up doing the GP at Laguna instead... It's something the GF and I could ride to.

Am I the only person that thinks the XBRR is an ugly bike? I know why they made the body work the way they did but it really doesn't look very good, IMO.
