It seems my battery just bit the dust. It lasted a long time. You think i would be better off going with the stock Buell battery? How much are they? Are they Gel batteries? There are some on Ebay but I am not sure how old these batteries are. I figure batteries have a shelf life. I want to make sure I get one that was manufactured recently.

Regards
Mike

i believe the stockers ARE gel -- I picked one up last summer for between 50 & 60 USD to replace the OEM in my Y2K bike (old one hadn't died yet, just showing it's age -- great deal, really

batts DO have a shelf life -- there are date indications on them -- sometimes the date is printed, sometimes it's a sheet with month/year circled or otherwise indicated

given that they ain't lightweight items, shipping could add considerably to the total cost of an ebay batt

I think I paid $68 for a (stock) HD battery for my M2. It seemed like a good price for something I know works... I bought another one as a gift for a friend of mine with a dead Fatboy.

Batteries make great, great gifts if the person you're buying it for needs it.

Stock batteries are AGM batteries.

It seems hard to go wrong with the stock HD battery. I have three bikes, all with HD batteries...2001, 2002, and 2003.
