Dear Abbey,

I've never written you before, but I really need your advice on what could be a crucial decision. I've suspected for some time now that my wife has been cheating on me.

The usual signs....phone rings but if I answer the caller hangs up. My wife has been going out with the girls a lot recently although when I ask their names she always says "Just some friends from work, you don't know them." I always stay awake to look out for her taxi coming home, but she always walks up the drive way, although I can hear a care driving off, as if she had gotten out of the car around the corner. Why? Maybe she wasn't in a taxi? I once picked up her cell phone just to see what time it was and she went berserk and screamed that I should never touch her phone again and why was I checking up on her. Anyway, I have never approached the subject with my wife. I think deep done I just didn't want to know the truth, but last night she went out again and I decided to really check up on her. I decided I was going to park my Buell motorcycle next to the garage and hide behind it so I could get a good view of the whole street when she came home. It was at that moment, while crouching behind my Buell, that I noticed that the primary cover on my engine seemed to be leaking a little oil. Is this something I can fix, or should I take it to the dealer?

Thanks,

Mark

Abby's response;

Dear Mark,

It sounds like you have lost the emotional connection with your Buell and her way of showing it is to start leaking some oil. You should probably take her into the dealer and the two of you have a sit down with the Service Counselor and see if the three of you can determine the root cause and see if you can reconnect emotionally with your motorcycle. Parking her in the garage has probably not helped one bit. May I suggest the living room, or even the bedroom if you really want to save this relationship with your motorcycle? Oh , what was that problem you were having with your wife? It will work it’s self out, just focus your attention on what’s important right now and that’s your Buell.

Abby

I'm so proud to be a part of a group of people that really knows what is important in life. As long as she doesn't let the other guy ride your Buell...you'll be OK I think.

I wish he would mow the yard or wash the car.....something!

The Buell and I are going to spend some alone time together....maybe a bath, then a nice ride in the country. I think I'll start with some very nice Amsoil and then wash her air filter.....yeah.....that should do it!!!!

Maybe your wife is trying to help you out. Maybe she is seeing a Buell dealer!
Good luck, I think you need it bad!

Hey man, I was hoping this thread was a joke. But if not, check the torque on your mounting bolts or replace the gasket on your primary cover and kick the b***h to the curb (then start parking the Buell in your bedroom).

Mark,
Let me start by saying how sorry I am that you have to go through this. I empathize man, I've been there. It's a horrible situation... but it is NOT the end of the world. It's always hard when the one you've devoted your heart to betrays you. It is not your fault.

Do you think your bike has always leaked oil and you were just too blinded by love to notice it? Did you defend your bike to your friends who said your buell was kinda 'agricultural?' Did you avoid letting people into your garage for fear that they would notice the stains on the floor? Have you been enabling her leaky behavior by supplying shop rags and drysweep?

This needs to STOP NOW! You're not a chump or a doormat. Be a man!! You are the master of your destiny. It's all about respect. She obviously doesn't respect you or she wouldn't be making such a mess. If you allow this situation to continue what's next? Poor shifting? Broken Belts? Get that bitch a new gasket and tell her that future leaks will not be tolerated. There are hundreds of buells on ebay that would love have a rider like you.

sounds like you need a girl like mine....... she may be a bit loud and obnoxious, BUT...... she never leaks, takes all the abuse i throw her way (looks amazing while doing it) and were so in tune with each other, i can turn her on with a push of a button.
