5. Supports cgi scripts and chron jobs for emailing

6. 24/7 tech support

7. Daily backups

8. A capable fast machine with a decent HDD

9. Based in U.S.A.

10. Full-featured security

11. Good user interface, functionality.

I have not exhaustively researched the field, but they have hosted my stuff for years now, with no fuss and no stupidity. The price is good as well, and I think they will work with you for extra stuff.

The only thing I don't know about are backups, but that would be a fairly straightforward thing to automate yourself.

Spidy, I'll give your buddy a call. Colorado is a good central location, if that matters. Anyone know anything about server location versus communication throughput for various other locations?

Please note, this is a stand-alone server requirement with a significant amount of traffic.
