touched down with my left peg...)

So... It was pretty cold up here the other night. It was about 10 degrees. I was pulling out of my parking spot and realized that the pavement was pretty slippery. I figured this would be a great time to practice my rolling burnouts... Well, I got the rear tire good and heated up and had some good fun, but that put me at about 40 MPH. I decided it would be a good time to slow down (being in aparking lot and all) so I grabbed the front brake. I remember thinking... "I hope I don't use too much..."

I did : ).

I'll be getting an entire new shift linkage though : ). Luckily the primary didn't take any damage. The DHM swingarm sliders worked excellently (and will next time, they're just scratched up), and the frame pucks effing RULE. The bike slid about 20-30 feet and there's just a little scratch about 3/4" long on it. That's it... no rash at all, just one scratch. The peg didn't break (which suprised me), and I'm pretty sure I was still on it when it touched so...

Anyway... I learned how to do a rolling burnout AND I learned that cold tires suck... No bodywork damage at all. I'll need a new jacket though : ), but it did it's job well. No marks on the helmet.

I love leaving my dad's place after spending a Saturday with him. We have a tendency to show off a little when riding around one another, so I always make it a point to do something crazy when I head out down the driveway. My favorite is leaving with cold tires. I usually give it a good rolling burnout until the tire gets hot enough to hook up and I end up transitioning from a high rpm burn to a standup wheelie and ride out of sight. Dad gets a kick out of stuff like that. I make myself laugh too sometimes. Hope I don't push my luck a little too far someday. I'll never hear the end of it if I dump my bike assing around in the driveway. LOL!

Anyway, no worse for the wear I guess. Glad you and your bike are reasonably unscathed.

Glad you are OK. I bet the store got it on video for the parking lot surveillance... you ought to go see if you can get a copy. : )

You might want to replace that peg even though it did not break... that would suck to have it let go when you are not expecting it..

Got no rear brake...

To note... If your rear brake light sending unit goes out, it may let the fluid out shortly thereafter...

Years ago when my daughter(Now 30) used to work for the Evil Empire, I had to pick her up one night because of a pervert in the store that would follow her home.
Apparently, my daughter was not the only victim, as I watched someone push a shopping cart to about 40 MPH with their car and guide it into the side of the perverts car! It was a cool experience.
