I am happy they were never used in a large quanity (It seems to me that when you pass fluid through a rotating shaft the posability for a leak is just to great to be very reliable)

I wonder if you can change the pads without removing the spokes.

That's a wild idea, but it looks very impractical and the hub has to be heavy .

However for endurance racing if there were quick disconnects for the brake lines that
would male for some quick front wheel/tire swaps. Use a Single side swingarm on the
rear and you'd blaze through the swaps.

Changing break pads and balancing may be nasty issues though.

But that's just my take on it.

Unsafe too. The is a company that makes custom HD wheels will a similar spoke arrangement. There have reportedly been many failures due to the straight-pull design of those heavy spokes...does cool cool tho!
