not sure who have seen this, but my father sent me the link today.

Lets get this out of the way now, these are not my opinions, nor do they represent my opinions.

I disagree withe one key point, insurance. My Buells have been cheaper to insure than any other bike to date through HD Insurance, 350 to 450, full coverage, (Progressive, I think), that and the belt drive are two BIG selling points for me. Who wants to do poker runs with the HOGS, anyhow? Some weekend warrior always runs into someone or something!!!

Unfortunately the Harley owners group uses this excuse to exclude anyone from riding with them unless they ride a Harley because it is not an American made bike, it's just a "rice burner".

That's some funny chit, there.

Unfortunately the Harley owners group...
Harley owners group...Harley owners...
I don't understand the problem with a Brand group, wanting the Brand promoted to be part of the Branded club...

This means they do not build high tech motorcycles...
He's just figuring it out...this is one bright individual.
He also must have a pretty poor driving record for his insurance to be so high.

Last bit...
So it comes down to choosing, do I just want to be cool and run with the "in crowd", or do I want to be an individual and not succumb to peer pressure. But you will be surprised how many people have bought into this Harley mindset and how many forty somethings and fifty something year old people are still succumbing to peer pressure. Use your head and think for yourself, you'll be glad you did.
First bit...
I own both a Harley and a Kawasaki.

It's long been held in the south that

"If two men are having an argument and one is reputed to be a Fool, you will know wich one it is for sure when he speaks"

Well lets look at this from a realistic point of view..........You will "in most cases" pay almost as much for a JAP bike as you would a HD. Now, even though you pay a bit more for a HD you lose a lot less in resale due to depreciation. Pick up a newspaper and compare prices, be sure to do year to year comp's. Now as a Buell rider for some time I have had several JAP bikes, most recently a 1999 R6 yammy. As my 6 slowly dropped in value I started looking around @ Buell prices, guess what, they stay pretty close to the same no matter what model it may be. Sure we Buell riders like to think are bikes are all USA but in order for cost's to stay reasonable they use JAP brakes, levers, wheels & who knows what else but when its all over we still own the corners right?

This gentlemen needs to just go ahead and trade his Harley for a Burgman. Suits him.
