I am looking for a content management system for a web page. I want to set up a front page that is a headline page with the stories linked to the headlines. I like the way superbikeplanet.com works. I want to make this accessible through an RSS feed also.

After that initial appearance I want to be able to access the stories from a php page from a mysql database. There will be a ton of photos so the ability to work with pix is important.

This might be two separate packages I don't know.

I have a few bucks to spend.

Any ideas??

If you don't want to have to manage and maintain the server you might check with your ISP to see if they offer any web hosting services.

Just my 2 cents : )

web hosting services.

That is what I have. What I think I want, and i may be way off base, is a php mysql package designed to handle a news type site and a phot type site. Then I would modify them to get exactly what I want.

I could build it from scratch BUT that seems like reinventing the weheel.

Dave, I've played around with SEVERAL over the past few months while re-creating brew city BRAG's web site(www.brewcitybrag.org) I'm no web expert by any stretch of the imagination, and wanted something reliable, easy to set up, and secure. Stay away from PHPNUKE if you want something secure.

I decided on E107(www.e107.org).

I also like CPGNuke. It's branched off of PHPnuke, but with a ton of added speed and security enhancements.

I also liked E107 because of the 'ol "security thru obscurity". Considering it's not the most popular CMS package.

If you have *A LOT* of time to waste, take a look here:
http://opensourcecms.com/
They have demos of pretty much every opensourse CMS package available, as well as reviews.
