... well kinda. Let this be a lesson to everyone to be careful.

Friends Story - riding 2up, raining, coming into left hand turn, crosses center line, "hits oil", almost loses it, "hits oil again", veers into guardrail on right side of road traveling at "40mph".

Gear worn - helmets, jackets, jeans, gloves (both rider and passenger)

Damage to people/gear - Beat up helmets, will get pics of them later. Riding jackets scraped up, gloves scraped up. Sore... rider had bruised thighs and mark on forhead. Passenger had a bruise on leg, and a bruise on chin.

It might not look that bad, but I couldn't get pics of the other side because I put it soo close to the wall. THE FRONT IS ONLY BEING SUPPORTED BY WIRES, if the wires were cut the entire front section would drop to the ground.

Bike is sitting in one of the garages at my house until insurance and everything is sorted out. Which shouldn't be long because he only had liability (it was paid off).

His story seems a little far fetched, which is why I quoted things up top. I think he crossed the line, it was slick because of the rain, he lost traction, prevented a low-side... and steered into the gaurdrail. He dented the gaurdrail (no pics yet), both were thrown from bike, bike flipped around and landed on it's side.

Damage appears to be...entire front end, headers, all fairings, side case, frame has a piece ripped out of it... my guess is "total".

Rider had 3-4 yrs riding experience on the street, and more in dirt.

Like I said, I'll try to get pics of the scene, and of the helmets and jackets.

LET THIS BE A LESSON

RIDE SAFE

That's quite a lesson. Looks to me like he wasn't riding safely for the current conditions. 2up in the rain is dangerous business. Glad everyone is ok.

I don't think he was riding safely either.
Conditions definately weren't the best( it has been raining for almost a week straight). This happened 2 days ago now.

He said he was riding because he was angry.

I am not sure if he learned his lesson or not, he seems to blame the accident on the "oil". He won't listen to me so I just said the normal.. glad your ok, could be worse.

Dayum! That bike looks nasty. Glad he and passenger weren't hurt worse.

Glad they were wearing their gear!
That could have ended much worse!
