Well after my enforced layoff, I finally felt up to hauling the M2 about & went out to a local hill-climb race meeting. A very nice after noon watching loonies on everything from 2 stroke 50cc racebikes to supermotards to full on race sidecar outfits, all blasting up a twisty tarmac country road, with some hay bales to protect the telephone poles. The French do this sort of thing so well, footpaths thru the fields, couple of beer tents, paddock access, incomprehensible PA system (but aren't they all) good marshalling, great views, not too sanitized, not a copper in sight, great atmosphere & all for €8 (about $10). Bumped into loads of old mates too which was very nice. It feels good to be back. | ||
