"This thread, like many threads lately, is taking a turn for the worse."

Fortunately it appears to be elevating itself. Not every thread has to predestined to the gutter. You too can make a difference!

Victory also had a "make it your way" style ordering system. Does anyone know if it still in place?

I kinda like the Fisher. The tank looks like a killer in a front end impact though.

The Buell motor is awesome. I thrash it often and it keeps on ticking.

The Buell electronics are pure 1980's American crap though. (sory just confirmed the failed stator).

Oh and before you flame me the reason for the crap statement is based on 3 speedo sensors, turn signal relay, stator and regulator.

I kinda like the idea of a new entrepreneurial effort in the works that will employ American workers and be a positive addition to the economy. The fact that it results in one more choice for motorcyclists is icing on the cake. (Figure of speech – I think. Or is it a metaphor? Well, it’s a good thing - that’s opinion.)

>>>I thought that was Burger King!

Burger King, as keen eyes may have caught recently, is playing a bit of a peripheral role in the motor world.

Texas Pacific Group is making a killing off Burger King.

quote:

Yee-haw! Let's round us up some LBOs! Texas Pacific Group (TPG) has staked its claim on the buyout frontier with a reputation for roping in companies other investors wouldn't touch with a 10-foot pole. An active investor, TPG often takes control of the companies in which it invests. Holdings have included stakes in technology (Seagate Technology, ON Semiconductor), consumer franchises/products (Burger King, Ducati), retailers (J. Crew, Petco), airlines (Continental, America West), and entertainment (Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer). Texas Pacific Group raised a whopping $14 billion for its latest Texas-sized buyout fund in 2006.

Don't ask how I know or I'll have to strangle you.

I have heard all the comments about the Buell lump for a while, WHEN I was stationed in VA, I shrugged it off...and laughed last, usually, while I was doing the work to everyone else's bikes, an they ask, "When do you have to time to keep YOUR running?"

I just change the tires, the brakes, and the oil....that simple...takes about an hour...IF I have to do the tires, add another hour...

Down here in TX, the bike gets ALOT more positive attention...So, I have seen both sides of THAT....

Second, I like the way the Fischer looks...

NOW, if that motor is BASICALLY the SV650... I wonder if the 1000 will fit in there...

I will yank the plasticds off one of the TL1000s at the shop, and make a few measurements...and hopefully, I can ge tthe measurements for the 650 from someone as well...

But, yeah, I hear ya'll on that tank issue..probably something a good body guy could "resculpt", so as not to be so....painfull....

My thoughts...

Oh, and to add more fuel,

The Delorean was designed by an american, but, built in Northern Ireland....American? Or Irish car?

Allistair Cooke was heard to say, "The Fischer is to motorcycles what ochra is to vegetables. Quite simply, the worst of the bunch".

But Court still wants one.

And yes Court, it is bad for you to spend the weekend on a Suzuki. Unless the Suzuki is a dirt bike, in which case it is actually good.

And you can bet I'll do whatever I can to raise the earth's temperature and destroy the Ozone layer. Let's bring this place crashing down on the man! Bring it down man!

I don't like the bike, but I applaud the effort. Not bad for a first production bike. I'm sure that others (Victory) didn't quite hit the target first time out. Hopefully they will sell enough of these to establish themselves and refine their product.

Puppy,
If I intend on calling someone a liar, there will be no mistaking it. Exaggeration is next to lying; that's my view; pretty sure it has validity. No big deal. Some folks like to exaggerate to help bolster their point of view. An obvious exaggeration, one that is apparent to all who hear it, isn't a lie in that it isn't really intended to misrepresent facts, but it is still untrue. Some exaggerations are obvious, some aren't. The ones that aren't obvious are closer to lies.

One certainly may state "facts" as one imagines them that are intended to impart a negative characterization. Hey, it's what you do.

An evaluation of whether one's "factual" contributions are more negative, unhelpful, belittling and confrontational in nature versus more positive, helpful, thoughtful, and constructive in nature simply requires a review of one's collection of contributions here.

Wanna go down that path? Would you really like for me to collect the evidence and post it for all to see?

I had to resort to that on one prior occassion with another problematic contributor. It was a slam dunk case, no contest. It may be that you don't even realize the tenor that saturates the majority of your posts here. I really don't care to have to sort through them to make the point. I'd hope you'd do some thoughtful introspection on your participation here.

Avoiding sticking your nose between personal discussions of others would be a good start. Avoiding making any kind of derisive personal commentary is another good step. I see you as an instigator of ill-will and consternation. Because of that, I'm on your case here. I am compelled to read most all your posts. You've become an irritation to me and others here. I'm tired of it.

I want to come here to talk Buells and have some fun, maybe learn a thing or two. I don't care to come here and see people running down Buell motorcycles or the efforts of those who are out racing Buell motorcycles. That's basically it.

The following comprise a small collection of some of your posts; I didn't even get through half of your posts. I'm sure you'll have your justification for your negativity and naysaying. I'm tired of it. Please stop it, both against Buell motorcycles and personally against folks here.

Rocket,I am trying to do that very thing. Its hard to get a japanese dealer to take my bike in on trade. So why don't you STFU.Isn't there a spaceship you need to get ready for?Just drink the Kool-Aid and relax.

Kaveman,I would have had to say"of course it is in the shop".Fair or not Buell has a reputation for quality problems, brought on by themselves with the earlier models.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Bads,I am not whining, so STFU.Maybe I will go to other motorcycle message boards and tell them about my Buell problems and the kind of service you get at the dealer.i know I should just drink the kool-aid and shut up,guess what,I won't.If you don't like it so what.other ppl can complain about service and reliability it's fine, you don't like it when I say something because I don't follow the Buell mantra.

Bads, you want to know whats so funny, you would just sit back and not say a word if it was your bike.Just because i will not grab my ankles I am a whiner,I'll gladly be a whiner.

McWilliams was on a XBRR.

"ha ha for all the haters, did anyone count how many jappy bikes McWilliams passed?"

To use an excuse often used here for Buell, they were true privateers, not factory teams like the XBRR

Posted on Friday, March 17, 2006 - 07:39 pm:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I have a question,Why were they not able to get a part from the factory in time for the debut of the XBRR,racing in the biggest race of the year?Doesn't sound to good to me.

Lets see a 1200 V-Twin against a 650 V-Twin,$10,995 vs $6495,I would hope it's a better race bike.

Cool bike, but $31,000 ,$24,000 buys you a Ducati 999S that puts out 143hp and is street legal,a 999R is $31,000 and puts out 150hp and is street legal...

To bad a $10,000 GSXR 1000 is faster than a XBRR

Posted on Tuesday, August 15, 2006 - 11:27 pm:

It trounced a bunch of GSXR1000's but can't beat a 600 in FX,okay there Anony.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Anony, what have I been proven wrong on? I'll show you were, when it comes to the XBRR a bunch of BS is passed off as fact on this board.

Jscott, exactly, hmmm whats more impressive,a purpose built race bike from a factory that has 4 DNF's at Daytona or a handbuilt bike finishing 30th in an endurance race and going 757 laps.Any other board and we would know what the answer would be.

Posted on Sunday, March 19, 2006 - 02:02 pm:

I find it hilarious that ppl actually think that the other manufacturers are afraid of the XBRR.

What would last longer a stock CBR600 or a stock Buell?

Posted on Sunday, March 12, 2006 - 02:49 pm:

... By the way for $10k you can get a Japanese IL4 that would have no problem doing better that the XBRR did at Daytona.

For those of you complaining about Wal-Mart why would you buy a new Buell, how many of the parts on the XB's are made in China or other third world countries? If you feel you have to take a moral stand, get rid of your Buell also.

Posted on Saturday, November 26, 2005 - 03:33 pm:

Court, once again you still haven't answered the question,I guess you have just not directly.Cost is one of the reasons they sourced them out to China not because they were absolutely the best quality.Court,I have to admit, you would make a great politician.Spin,Spin,Spin.

I may be wrong, but I doubt it.What was out first, the Multi or the Uly?I have heard Buell buys a lot of Ducs,I wonder who is getting ideas from other manufacturers.Let the bashing begin.

M-1,who flamed Buell,I guess stating facts is now flaming?

Posted on Monday, June 13, 2005 - 03:04 pm:

The Kaw is $1500 less than a 9 and $3500 less than a 12 so you can't say the XB gives you more for your money.

Posted on Tuesday, June 07, 2005 - 12:42 am:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
For me,I could care less if i ever meet Erik Buell,no offense meant,I care that I can depend on service and parts when I need them for my XB.I cannot believe ppl just don't seem to care about the level of service you get when you buy a Buell,of course there are exceptions,i just wish they dealer network could be forced by H-D to do the right thing.

Posted on Tuesday, March 01, 2005 - 06:01 pm:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
M1,most ppl who ride are not going to notice 3-5 inches.Buell does not compete in SB,I wonder why? What was their top finish in FX?Seems those long unstable Japanese bikes sure have problems with Buells.

Posted on Saturday, March 26, 2005 - 01:35 pm:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Never said you have to like it.I didnt' see any one say the bike was better, just posted about the bike.I guess when you are not secure in your choice of bike you have to put down any other bike.I could go by a SV650 and put the $2000 I would save and use it to improve the SV and kick a XB's rear.

Posted on Saturday, March 26, 2005 - 12:43 pm:

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Just a question, why is it when someone posts about a bike, everyone here puts it down and how it doesn't compare to a Buell.Other bikes are as nice as a Buell,I know ppl here don't like to hear that, but it is true.

Posted on Saturday, March 26, 2005 - 03:31 pm:

Mike I didn't say everyone does it...

emphasis added

Posted on Saturday, March 26, 2005 - 02:13 pm:

Scooter,I believe you will find the oppisite. Most ppl immediately put down other bikes ppl mention and then go on about how their XB is better.Like I said ppl who are not secure with their choice of bike will over compensate.

Posted on Saturday, March 26, 2005 - 11:21 pm:

Not whining just making an observation.I know ppl can't take criticism in here, but oh well.

Posted on Wednesday, July 05, 2006 - 07:52 pm:

Anyone want to bet that by the time any one of them actually makes a real bike, Buell will have something that can blow it away?

The latest MotoCzysz is supposed to be at a tent at Laguna Seca. Do you think Erik can talk him into a race? Old man Erik on an XBRR vs. Michael C. on his latest prototype.

How much would you pay to see that?

If either bike ends up racing,I think it would be way more impressive than th XBRR.I find it funny Buell is applauded for showing up at a race and not finishing just because they don't have the money of the big 4,but these guys get no respect from some of the Buell faithful. These guys are no different from Erik, except they haven't been bought out by H-D.

Posted on Wednesday, July 05, 2006 - 08:58 pm:

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Cool 36 is young.Court, you are a mouth piece for BMC,it shows.Anony, when did I put Erik down, his first bike was very impressive, how many races did his first bike compete in?Where is Buells attempt at Superbike or MotoGP?My post was not to put down Buell, but to show how ppl are a little kooky when it comes to Buell.

Posted on Thursday, July 06, 2006 - 10:44 pm:

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I guess they could have used that ole Buell shortcut and used someone elses engine, man what are they doing trying to build there own engine.

Posted on Friday, July 07, 2006 - 07:34 am:

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I never said building a motorcycle was easy, but building a bike to compete today from scratch and doing the same almost 30 years ago is just a little different, but I am sure you knew that. With that being said if I had a few million to get started,I am sure I could do it,as could most anyone if they put their minds to it and had the passion, computer aided design is a pretty cool thing.

Posted on Friday, July 07, 2006 - 06:23 pm:

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Comparing a liquid cool V-8 to an air cooled v-twin motorcycle engine is like comparing an apple to a tuna.M-1,Buell got a 150-170 HP engine RR engine through Daytona? That's news to me.

Posted on Tuesday, June 06, 2006 - 06:17 pm:

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Did,I bitch Indy,no,I haven't had a problem with my belt, but that doesn't mean there wasn't a bad batch.Does Buell test every belt it sells?I'll answer that for you,NO.Typical Buell-Aid drinker,it's all your fault if something happens to a Buell.
M-1,I don't know if I would imply that anyone else is an idiot if i were you, people in glass houses shouldn't throw rocks.

Posted on Sunday, April 23, 2006 - 10:26 am:

I love this place,I agree with Bueller69.The way ppl react when someone doesn't wear the purple nikes and drink the kool-aid is a joke.

Posted on Saturday, February 18, 2006 - 03:20 pm:

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Or it could be a matter of principal, they feel that the Buell was allowed to skirt some of the rules.Does the Buell break some rules?I can see where it does, although AMA didn't agree,so it's in and Honda isn't happy,I doubt they are scared.

Posted on Sunday, July 23, 2006 - 10:27 pm:

Talk about an idiotic statement.Name one thing the XBRR has in common with a street Buell.

Posted on Sunday, July 23, 2006 - 11:27 pm:

Once again any post not worshipping Buell is attacked.

Posted on Sunday, July 23, 2006 - 11:53 pm:

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I think Buell did real good today, but lets get real, they were in last place when compared to other factory supported teams...

Posted on Monday, July 24, 2006 - 06:34 pm:

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Here's another one for you.Was the Suzuki that finished infront of the XBRR a factory effort?how about all the bikes that finished in front of the Buell at Daytona, where they factory? How about Infineon?I have a Buell and I like it,I have never been interested in watching a race, but I watched it,with that said,I am not going to act like an eighth place finish is the greatest thing in the world. They finished, they are getting better, get over it.

Posted on Monday, July 24, 2006 - 09:20 pm:

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
So Buell basically came in last when it came to factory supported teams.Suzuki doesn't spend the money in FX like the other factories do,they concentrate on the other Superstock and Supersport.Yeah, lets hear it for Buell, their full on factory bike beat a bunch of privateers.

Posted on Monday, July 24, 2006 - 09:36 pm:

I just understand it is not going to be great race bike in the big time classes.I guess if you don't worship at the Buell alter ,you don't like Buell, sorry,I am not a blind follower.

I would still like to see a post where I put down the effort of Buell,oh thats right if I don't say that Buell is the greatest and the best bike on the track,I am dissing it.Sorry that you have your life so wrapped up in a motorcycle brand that you can't take it when ppl state a few facts that are negative towards your beliefs.

Riiiiight,you are a grownup,get a life moron.

OOOOOH,that makes you just such a good person, you got e-mails from a race team.

Constant bashing, where?I understand guys like you,I see it all the time.State a fact about something they like and they don't like the fact, they get defensive and cry,it's ok though, you are on the right board for this, the usual suspects will be along to pat you on the back, and tell you what a great buell supporter you are,and that you get it and I don't.Look in the mirror and tell yourself ,"I'm Good Enough, I'm Smart Enough, and Doggone It, People Like Me!"

Posted on Tuesday, July 25, 2006 - 10:26 am:

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Indy, unlike most of you,I am not crying.I think it's funny that people post things on here as facts, and because it helps Buell it's not questioned,as soon as the truth is brought up,people in the cult start calling you a basher.Funny thing is if you are in support of Buell you can say anything you want, point out any negatives and you are attacked, but thats ok on here.Do you think i really care what some little cheerleader says to me,I'll clue you in,I DON'T.Go into your garage and look at your bike and tell yourself how your Bike is perfect and everyone else doesn't get it.No one has shown me where I have been negative about Buell in this thread, please show me.

Every review of the Blast talk about the performance of the Blast on a highway. They say above 70 there just isn't much there. Now how did I prove I know nothing about my bike or Buell history,I understand you have Buell colored glasses on ,but please be realistic. If your Blast is so great, why are you working so hard to change it and make it faster. You can try to talk down to me all you want, facts are still facts.i guess good hard numbers mean nothing to you though, the Blast is the best motorcycle ever created.

EZ,I understand you are getting frustrated,it's ok.I never said numbers were important to me,i was just using them to prove my point, which I have, get over it.How many Buells have you owned? If numbers mattered to me I would have a Gixxer. You love your bike, thats what it is all about, but get over yourself

Way to turn a prospective Bueller off on the brand.A guy ask some questions and he gets pounced on.I have a 03 Buell and have had tranny problems, clutch cable, voltage regulator, speed sensor, relays that keep getting burnt out.Ppl need to quit taking this stuff personal.

Norris,What do the need to be educated on?Buells do get their asses kicked by 600 sportbikes, they are not true sportbikes.Buells should be compared to SV,Monsters, and FZ6's.

I have gone to another dealer, they have had the bike since early Thursday morning and haven't even started tearing it down yet, gotta love Buell service.I will be getting a different brand and something tells me I will have just as much fun on it as I have my Buell.

M1,I didn't say the 600's weren't modified,I said they were no where near as modified as the Buells, disagree? The only thing stock on the Buells in FX may be the wheels, every thing else has been modified.M1if the XB's are so great why haven't they won a race where they compete against bikes of the same displacement. They win the races that were pretty much made with the Buells in mind.

Rocco,
Agreed. Adding the dollar figure at the end makes that common figure of speech into something else entirely, a statement of fact. In my opinion. It's a bit of a pet peeve of mine. I over-reacted to JScott's exaggeration. I blame it on Bomber and his politics. I also may be curmudgeonly. My bad. : )

MDM, Sorry I don't agree with you and am only posting this becasue you used a quote from my previous post.

I have had plenty of things to say on this forum that were not well recieved with the result of being suspended. I was being divisive and kinda a pain in the ass so I deserved it.

I also had no trouble with getting back on after throwing a couple of emails back and forth with Blake. He is a stand-up guy.

I have never been threatend with being banned for bitching about my Buell. I have had more than my share of problems with my bike but none with this communmity.

Not as many people here drink Buellaid as you might think. Most of us here are enthusiasts about riding first and Buells second.

The powers that be do try to get us all to try to avoid falling into the same trap as many other internet boards out there. You know the trap? Name calling, petty arguments and constant bitching.........

Blake and I stand on two different sides of a couple of different fences. I would still have a beer with him any day of the week.

Pup, You had to go make Blake roll up a newspaper and smack you on the nose with it and I want to thank you. Great read, perhaps if you take the time to read you posts all in one place you might understand the attitude.

Tuscon, you are right,I am not going to put the purple nikes and robes on and wait for the big Buell spaceship behind the Hale-Bopp comet.Fact one Buell has not won a FX race against Japanese 600's.Fact two Buell is allowed unlimited engine modifications the 600's are not.Fact 3 Buells could not compete in any other class of racing against the Japanese bikes.I guess in this starnge Buell world ,if you do not believe that the Buells are not the bestest bikes in the world y,you are bashing them.

Pup, seriously, if you wanna bash the bike, then bash away...BUT, do so in a manner that allows people to to turn and walk away, IF they dont wanna listen.

Not everyone is happy with something they have purchased...

My CBR for example...great track bike...useless on the street..

My Ducati's, absolute blast to ride, but maintnance intensive..

Suzuki, well, I work on enough of those, have no desire to own...

R1, yeah...I like it...

The point is, there is something to like and something to dislike abuot everything..

I do not live breathe, eat sleep etc, Buells...

So, ease up...you dont like brand, thats cool, I am not gonna loose any sleep over it, and and I doubt anyone else will...

So, take your comments and go whine on SacBorg or whereever....

I for one and sick of reading it, and if it were possible to "block" certian individuals, it woudl be easier...

I put up with enough immaturity from my 3 year old...

I shouldn't have to deal with it, on a forum full of adults...

Dont get me wrong, i love a good joke...and I have an off-color sense of humor...

But, you could give the military lessons in redundancy....let it go...

Sell the damn bike if you are unhappy...

I really dont think anyone here will care..

My thoughts...

Chase

Why don't YOU just shut up? We're all sick of your incessant whining. What's the matter, is the void left by Buellgrrrl too empty for you? Are you so pathetic that you must exist in a shame spiral?

Grow up or get lost. You run your mouth and you run your mouth and you run your mouth. You don't need to specifically hate Buells here for us to see who you are. It's obvious.

I hope you have to drive a CAR on your vacation.

Oops, got caught by the lockdown, which I support. But having typed out the following, well here it is; thank goodness for the "Back" button and thank you Glitch. : )

Lonnie,
You no search good. I don't think you really want me posting a link to your telephone number, do you? It is there, burried. I happened to run accross it recently purely accidentally. The continued insults are really unhelpful and unnecessary. Accountability is good.

As to the rest, well, people are funny. Might be best for all including you if you would avoid contributing to opinion posts and threads and just stick to the tech stuff for a while. The alternative is loss of posting privileges.

I was hoping that in being confronted with your own prior BadWeB contributions above that you might be inclined to reflect and rethink the tenor of your participation here. Instead and unfortunately it seems as though there is just more of the same denial.

All,
Joining in on a hatefest mob attack against Lonnie is counterproductive. We would do well to rise above that kind of miserableness. Having been the victim of such a mob mentality hatefest myself, I'm not at all comfortable seeing others subjected to similar abuse. It ain't positive, nor thoughtful, and it is a violation of BadWeB policy. So let's please take the high road.

Those who have contributed thoughtful commentary on behalf of Lonnie, thank you very much. Some hard and frank heartfelt words are okay; let's just please avoid the hateful personal attacks. : )

You know... Be excellent to each other. : ) Celebrate life and all its/our blessings, yes including Fischer motorcycles. ;)

Lonnie, maybe try avoiding inflammatory characterizations of those who disagree with you, especially sweeping over-generalizations. Maybe listen to folks sometimes, on account of sometimes there are true pearls of wisdom in their words. Other times... blah, blah, blah... : )
