I want to mount my Camcorder on my bike..

I have mounted it on my Tech mount on my handlebars but I'm looking for a set up for the side of the bike.. I've dug a bit..

Ram mount makes one that looks promising

Any pics or vids would be appreciated..

Thanks....

This one is from RAM.

On the rear peg

It works nicely. Not a whole lot of vibration.

Not sure exactly what the model is. Think it is part of the motorcycle radar detector kit. I know you can mix and match components from RAM.

These are some of the pieces I have, along with the arm in the middle.

Max
ordered it today, should be here within 2 weeks, cannot wait to get it up and running.

I have a brand new JVC 20G HD Camera, is it safe/sturdy enough, or am I going to be having a heart attack while riding?

Do you run the risk of scraping the camera when it is mounted on the peg, during turns? (obviously, but how badly?)

Safety mechanism attached to camera in case of malfunction to prevent it from becoming road debri?

I plan on making some kick a$$ video's once I get everything.

I never scraped anything in a turn. Just dont be too agressive. If ya look at the pic above you would have to be leaned over pretty far to touch pavement. Get a filter for the lens if you dont already have one. UV or polarized. Once you have it all assembled take it for a ride stopping every now and then to make sure it is all staying tight. I was a bit nervous the first time on the pegs but all was good. When I had it on the handle bars I actually had my wide angle lens unscrew itself and go bouncing down the road. Found it in a pile of leaves only a few scratches on the rim of the filter on the front. It was my fault for not checking it periodically but I got pretty lucky. Thus, get a filter. It will protect against dirt and minor debris. Easier and cheaper to replace a filter than the lens itself. Post the vids when you get a chance.

Thats ok man, my boss still calls me Mike and ive been here for 3 mo. Filters are measured in mm and they do vary from camera to camera. Think mine is 38mm. Check your manuals or manufacture web site for any info. I just measured mine. There should be threads on the inside or outside around the lens for the filter to screw into. Looks like yours is inside. They come in all types, UV, polarized, colored for all different types of lighting. Mine is UV and helps with outdoor shooting. I think polarized is a step up from UV. Ive been trying to filter out wind noise and get decent audio of the exhaust. Might get an external mic and run it up to my tailbag.

Check out the accessories tab on the link you posted. Those should work.
