It will only rain if I go towards Bear Mountain : ) Every time I go there on the Lighting it either rains on the way there, when I get there, or on the way home. Never fails.
I am not afraid of a little rain. I did say "isn't too wet" which should be translated into, there isn't a downpour when I am getting ready to leave...

tramp: No kidding : ) My first time to bear mountain with yeags we ran into a torrential downpour, huge amounts of thunder and lighting, and hail on the way home. Was actually a very interesting ride..

I will tell you that the first time that I met Tramp, Rich, and Mike it was one seriously stormy night. In fact the lightning and thunder flashed/boomed so much one would have thought the nuke plant just across the river blew up. Hard core rides in the rain - nut bags do it fast. Anyway I would love to ride, wet or not but things have been a little busy lately - below is an update. Hopefully be able to make the Fall run.....

Just wanted to send you an update. You may or may not have known that my wife Tina was diagnosed with cancer of the uterus the second week of June. First to start the month of June, my daughter became ill with an infection which developed into a larger problem due to the Dr perscribing her medication she was allergic too - twice in 3 days! The sad thing was the information was in her history folder. She did recover, but it was during the week of Americade and my wife stayed home and told me to head up since everything was paid for; plus I was only 2hrs away if needed.

Now the week after Americade, Tina had scheduled an appointment with a new OBGYN for a second opinion. She was having some irregularites and her normal Dr told her she was just starting menopause early and should just take birth control pills to equal things out. Feeling that was not the answer she needed, she made the second appointment. While at the second visit, the Dr decided to do an office visit biopsy for tests. Normal routine, but she developed a bleeding problem and I needed to rush her to the hospital 2 days later for emergency surgery to stop the excessive bleeding. With that, they did some rush tests and found out about the cancer.

We then headed to Albany Med. to meet with the Dr for surgery and she finally went for surgery this past Tuesday at St. Peters. The surgery went well and the Dr is on the optimist side that the cancer was localized to the uterian area. They conducted a complete hysterectomy as well as removed lymph nodes from the surrounding area and a small portion of her lower abdomen. We headed back up to Albany last week to get her results. They did find 2 seperate types of cancer, but all the lymph nodes from the surrounding area and her lower abdomen came back negative; a really good sign. The Dr is recommending radiation for 25 visits asa precautionary method. He feels optimistic but believes this is needed to be sure. The overall percentages of reaccurances after the combination of the surgery and treatment is extremely low to none. As far as I am concerned it is worth it. I'll do whatever to make her comfortable. She is home and although in some pain and discomfort, she is doing better each day.

geez, gomo- do not hesitate to call and let me know what i can do to help.
the good news is that the odds of recurrence are going to be wildly miniscule, pursuant to radiation treatment.
you and yours are definitely in my thoughts, do NOT hesitate to contact me-
If we can do anything to help with a run or something, I can put it together, website and all.
be thankful that we live i the 21st century, where such issues are far more manageable than they were even 30 years ago.
best to you and your family
Jay

Thanks for ALL your Thoughts.

We are looking at this like a temporary detour. Sometimes you have to change your path whether you want to or not, but you usally wind up on the same road and direction sooner or later - we're working on sooner.
Please do not confuse this with the manditory U-turn for ice cream. On a 90degree day that's no detour - that's life!
I'll be taliking with you soon as well as keeping the info updated, Thanks again to ALL.
