Check out their web pages: http://www.easternharley.com/ Compare that to some of the other local dealers in Long Island City, New Rochelle and Bellmore. All of those are Buell dealers, but if you visit their web pages, you'd never know. These guys get it! I might have to take a ride out east just to pop in and say "Hello!" | ||

A repository of classic tube framed Buells! I'm not really surprised, the North Fork isn't the most populated part of the island, and the rich people are all on the South Fork. Unfortunately, they aren't all that conveniently located for me... it'd be close to a 200 mile day for me to go out to visit, then turn around and come back... | ||

This is very possibly the worst Buell dealer on Planet Earth. The guy is both uninterested and incapable of selling Buells. His ideas on pricing are very original, to say the least. I have been there a few times, have never been able to find out what the bikes are doing there in the first place. No one in the place knows anything about them, or any other Buell. More like a museum or mausoleum than a dealership. | ||

Bergen county Buell/HD. Rochelle Park NJ. About ten minutes from GWB. Good people, good dealership. Very friendly and helpfull with a vibrant buell community. | ||

I remember calling Eastern Harley before I got the M2. They were not cool at all. They didn't even want to know from me. They would not even tell me their asking prices over the phone. I had to drive an hour to see what they had. Not good sales people there. If they talked with me, we could have worked out a deal. I go to Bellmore Harley/Buell. | ||

Just got back from Bellmore. They FINALLY have a Buell sign hanging out front. And inside the store they even have a small Buell display, though right now it's just jackets, sweatshirts and gloves. My friend went there yesterday to pick up the new deluxe tankbag; they actually had one in stock before Danbury! That's unusual! Maybe things are picking up in Bellmore! | ||

i tried to buy the '96 S1 lighting from them. (it still has .4 miles on the odometer) at the time, two years ago. they still wanted list price for it. i offered $7700 cash for it. i had it in my pocket and showed it to the salesman. they still said no. to say they are a bunch of tools is an understatement. brian | ||

It's difficult to apply conventional economics to many motorcycle dealers. There is a significant amount of ego involved. I marvel at the dealerships owned by folks who have never ridden for the sake of . . . well, making money and saying I own a Harley-Davidson dealership. I suppose some of you recall several years ago when the Daytona store went on the auction block. I had a friend bidding who'd never been on a bike in his life. | ||

We've got a new HD/Buell dealer here in Rennes, I know the manager as he was the manager for the last dealer who fell out with HD, I know the mechanic too who's a Buell guy. By all accounts the owner knows jack about bikes & is in it purely for the €€ & the kudos of saying he's a Harley dealer. I've been ignored there twice by the owner so I don't doubt it, you'd think he could bring himself to say hello to customers when they say hi to him, but I wasn't dressed from socks to jockstrap in HD-wear so I was probably commercially invisible. | ||

After I bought my S3T from Hempstead HD in 2001, I met the shop manager and he told me that the dealership had over a dozen unsold older buells still in crates. Perhaps after they dropped the Buell line, this is where they turned up. As far as buying one,; the thought of an older bike unused sounds interesting for sure. | ||

I hate to disagree with the prevailing wisdom AGAIN, but for new bikes that are not manufactured anymore, the price begins at M.S.R.P. and will go UP from there. (Ssshhh, don't tell anyone, OK?) Where else will you find a brand new tube Buell? It's like the guy who paid umpteen thousands (I think it was over 100K) of dollars for a still-crated Vincent, if he un-crated it the value of the thing dropped in half so he just cut a window in the crate so he could look at it at least. Gomo, The previous owners of Hempstead HD are the CURRENT owners of Bellmore HD. If anything, those uncrated Buells (if they still exist) are in the Bellmore store. I think Miracle Mile Harley is a new dealership; the Hempstead store was sold, and then moved. | ||

Say, for example you bought the '96 S1, it's a 10 year old bike, with 10 year old tyres, & 10 year old seals that have never done anything, may have dried & hardened, or stuck, with a strong likelihood of early failure, will the dealer honour the warranty on that? Plus there's no way I'm going to ride on new 10 yr old tyres I want new ones for that price. Could be expensive a little way down the line. | ||

Keep trying to convince the dealer it's worth less, but I don't think he is buying into it, if he hasn't changed the price in 10 years why would he start now? He'll get his money eventually, we all know that don't we? |
