I rode there, and I noticed a few sketchy things (wall on the outside of turn 3, noticable drop off from the track to the gravel on the outside of turn 6, ect). Tom Wilson ended his career after an injury there, Duhammel cut his season short after an injury there in 98, there was that whole thing about NHIS saying that HJC helmets caused serious injuries there, what's the deal? AMA doesn't race there anymore, and CCS has it's own club for Loudon. Anyone have any info?

Walls, trees, and insufficient run-off. Things that don't mix well with high speed motorcycle racing.

Hey Eboos since you have professed a new found interest in motorcycle racing, might I recommend RoadRacingWorld magazine. It is the definitive road racing publication, plus its editor John Ulrich is a straight shooter.

Yeah, the trees are classy. They add a pleasant atmosphere to the place.

I read the news from their site pretty much daily. I didn't know that it was in print until a few months ago when I saw it at Barnes and Noble. I am very impressed with it. It is much better then Road Racer X in my opinion.

There is nuttin wrong with NHIS. Don't miss turn three. #3 is not a high speed corner, but it is a tough, missleading, hard to judge one, many crash there. If you go off the out side of the bowl(#6) its cause you already crashed. No issue there. Watch for high sides in #2 & #4. Turn 10 ??

There is no such thing as safe motercycle racing. Accedents, injuries minor& major, + deaths happen, sorry its part of the game, its the risk you take. Its not for the timid. Adrenalin, thrill seekin jukies need only apply.

As far as the helmets go, the safty director saw a problem with one lid and said no more. Even the helmet manufactor in questin states that only top shelf fiberglass helmets should be used for racing. Good enough for me.

Oh sorry I forgot. The Loudon Road Race Searies other wise known as LLRS is run under the CCS licencing and racing compition rules. CCS club racing is not jest at NHIS. Many other tracks have their own club racing searies held under the CCS umbrella. The National CCS race searies comes to NHIS every June, bike week in N.H.

loudon...what fun! i crashed in turn 10 in 40 degree rain on DOT tires. downhill, sharp right hand turn, just leaned a bit more than i had traction for - super mild low-side. i got my race license there, and didnt read up about the track beforehand (prob for the better!) - so i thought elevation, banking, and concrete walls were "normal".

imagine my surprise when people talked about lack of runoff with several hundred feet before trees at certain other tracks : )

risk is everywhere. but esp in roadracing.
