I've seen one or two of those before! But that was back in Panama, and Desert Shield/Storm and everything in between. Go Navy! after all, the Commandant of the Marine Corps answers to the Secretary of the Navy |

saw a funny bumper sticker the other day, it read - it's Gods job to judge the terrorists, it's the marines job to arrange that meeting! hehe |

One of my best friends is a retired gunny. He's the least likely of any of my friends to ever get an intervention from the rest of us, that's for sure. |

They just ran out of grey paint. lol Besides you can see those 53's a long way off in the desert. The smoke trail is a dead give away from a distance. Called shitters. |

I once took a survey flight over Chile with HMX1 on a 53. Not all of the helicopters in the president's squadron are as comfortable as the president's. |

That must have not lasted too long. About as long as the time I had to paint parking signs. Instead of painted Chief Petty Officer I painted Chef. Hate the Navy. That pissed the ole Chef off.

I would have done it. In fact most Marines I know would either do it or take the picture. But only a stupid e3 would let the picture get out with his face on it. |

No E3 let the picture out. That website has been around for better than 2 years. You go, you type in your text and it appears on the piece of cardboard. The story was, and I have not idea (nor do I care) if it's credible, that the picture was taken in Texas. |

Stupid E3's ? The E's you speak of are the ones who are on the frontlines. Show a little respect please. A little reading : http://www.stripes.com/article.asp?section=104&article=21614&archive=true I know not all mentioned herein are E'3s... but you get the point. |

The NY Times and Reuters will likely now be running that forgery on their front page. In my view "poor taste" is a very kind characterization. |

Cataract.. very funny. My grandfather, and father served in the Army, and my brother currently is. I have a brother who served in the Navy, and another who served in the Marines. And uncle in the coast gaurd... and I chose the Air Force. I am not quite sure why I chose this one above the others, I think it had something to do with the aircraft. Brothers-in-Arms nonetheless. Good on you. Be Safe. |

SgtHigg, your more than welcome to get a copy of either of my dd214's and my DOR for Sgt was 11/00. So kiss my ass! I said most of the Marines I know. I don't know you so, you don't apply. I could dig up alot of crazy pics of Marines doing stupid things. .. BrinUSAF, your in the air force what the hell do you know about anything.. flyboy? An e-3 is a non-rate not an NCO. Thus IMO they are the ones most likly who would do a childish act likt the picture. I was an e3 for three months before a mertiorously promoted. ... Dbird your more than welcome to call me stupid to my face. Punk! I pulled the picture from the MarineTimes web site. I did not research to see if it was true. Either way it was a funny picture. http://www.marinecorpstimes.com/story.php?f=1-292925-2810106.php |

Quick google searching. I can't find any information that the picture was ever proven to be real or bogus. " The Marines conducted two investigations last year, both of which were inconclusive. Even experts with the Naval Criminal Investigative Services couldn’t find evidence to support or refute claims of manipulation." "Neither he nor anyone he knows still possesses a version of the image the way he says he created it, and no amount of Internet searching has turned it up. All that exists are the low-quality clones on the Web. Farid’s software can’t assess Boudreaux’s claim because the existing images are too compressed for his algorithms. And even Farid’s trained eye can’t tell if either of the two existing images—the "good" sign or the "bad" one—are real or if, as Boudreaux claims, both are fakes. " |

Just thought it in poor taste since Lcpl Boudreaux has caught enough undeserved crap without you perpetuating it. Good luck on your competition. |

It's easy to call an E-3 stupid, but I've seen more smart E-3's than I have Sr enlisted and Officers. Let's see: 0-6 telling troops to launch rigid raiders from the well deck of a ship during a storm. Needless to say, the boats crashed into each other and sunk. A little ole E-3 was smart enough to take photo's of the event. 0-6 told a Sgt to drive a Humvee off one of the old landing crafts that happened to get stuck on a sand bar. The Sgt inspected it and told the Col it was too deep, that the Humvee would sink. Col ordered him to drive off anyway. Well, after the Humvee sank, the Sgt popped up doing a backstroke back to the landing craft. On a live firing range, Lt standing in front of a machine gun, ordered the troops to fire. LCpl(E-3) told him he needed to move, Lt got pissed and ordered him to fire. LCpl said screw it, fired and almost took the Lt's leg off. Lt was stupid for not listening. Lt ordered his troops to clean their weapons with GAS. Yes, someone walked by, flicked their cigarette at them and ALL of the weapons were burnt to a crisp. SgtMaj ordered a formation, Battalion Formation in a war zone. Incoming round impacted about a 100 yards away. 1stSgt ordered a Physical Fitness test in a war zone. Again, incoming rounds during the test. It's awful funny how my E-3's know how to use a computer and have to teach all the old farts how to use them. Better yet, one of them actually already owns his own software company. I stood holding a piece of paper that said Happy Mothers Day, so did a ton of E-3's, it doesn't make them stupid. I've had E-8's and E-9's ask me the same question back to back, to receive the same answer. Then they turn around and ask the same question again. Had a Sgt sit behind a Fifty Cal, after being given a class and shown how to fire the weapon, go up, lift up on the weapon, point the barrel into the ground directly in front of him, to ask a question about something underneath the weapon, and in the process, fire off about 15 rounds into the ground directly in front of him. Major, "Um, I accidentally spilled coffee onto my keyboard (laptop), and it won't turn on now. Oh, it smoked a little when I spilled the coffee on it. Can you get it to power up so I can retrieve my files?" Everyone has their "stupid" moments. |
