NOOOOO! I drive a ford and really like it, did do some research projects with the v10 and that thing was pulling 703 lb-ft at 1900 rpm!! on biodeisel!!!way cool, but I've never liked the way they sound on the exhaust side...but that may be an aftermarket thing... | ||

This is my diesel!It is in my boat.Took out a loud,oil pukin' & smokey Detroit & put in this Cummins.It is light,has power & sounds good.It burns 20% less fuel too!  And the women love it!! | ||

the cummins is the way to go for sure.  just sold my 97 dodge dually with the cummins.(big 5" exhaust with propane injection)very powerfull truck. very sad now, i miss it. drive a silly little jeep wrangler. wife thought it was to much money to keep up on maintenance. this tought me one thing.... SHE KNOWS NOTHING ABOUT VEHICLES!!!!!!!!  i am back on the prowl for another one again.  | ||

X-ring, that was one of 2 more engines that I couldnt remember the name of. I worked with a guy, who used to work on large container ships, and he was tellin me about an engine, that each cylinder, had a DOOR to enter it, so work, and inspection..though, I cant remember the name of that one either.. yes, you could walk right in...well..you know... I'll stick with my 45mpg 170hp and 330ft/lbs of torque VW Golf. Vnt17 turbo, 11mm pump, pp764 injectors, pd130 intake, FMIC, race pipe, cat2 fuel filter, Shine suspension...... And enjoy 700 miles per tank of fuel | ||

not really even close to breaking even. really enjoy being able to blast down the road passing vettes and mustangs and still get 40+mpg. Now If I put another 100k on the car. 100,000 miles = 2272 gallons of fuel. 3.00 per gallon = $6818 4.00 per gallon = $9090 Verses a normall car thats lucky to get 30mpg that 3333 gallons of gas, $10,000 in fuel cost at 3/gallon or $13,333 at 4/gallon. So I save $3-4,000 over then next 100k miles. I've allready put 40k on the car. So in the long run I do save some money. Makes me feel better at dropping a grand on a huge intercooler this week. Plus I get to use locally made biodiesel that supports the farmers in my area. Less arab oil burned. |
