I used to screw around with it on bicycles, but after seeing some guys doin it on the motorized versions-and while I know that they are very experienced, it looks like too damn much fun to pass up and was wondering if anyone does it and has some good suggestions, being that this a motorcycle board and all...

I used to be into it...my big brother was much better than me.
rode a beta, a greeves, a rickman, and few others.
I had a rickman metisse zundapp powered OT sled that i loved.
much like slaom ski racing, it's about picking your line more than simply completing your run.
try it for a few months, it will improve your street riding exponentially.

try flattracking, as well, and you'll be passing your friends in corners you never dreamt of crossing up in....

i had a 56 tooth rear sprocket on my XR250 for a few years... normal level ground start in 3rd gear, second was for steep descent, and first very nice for crawling over stumps, rocks, idling over downed trees, etc.
far cry from a real trials bike, but had a lot of fun practicing.

Did some amature comp. years ago on a Yama TY250. Also on mountain bikes aboard a Schwinn High Seirra.

The new trials bikes are awesome. I'd really like to get one for keeping my skills sharp. But I'd probally hurt myself in the backyard with one of those.

I wish in the Northwest we would get some world class competition to see. I'd be there. Those pros are amazing.

I've been looking into them recently and while expensive, my days of blasting through city streets, up on dividers, off park benches and bouncing off of walls looks like it would be even more fun with an engine. The guys that bunny hop up onto the top of telephone pole, then onto another one thats higher, are amazing to watch-skill level is unbeatable...

I had a Beta for a while,
My friend does trials with this Yamaha Venture Royale thing, what a jerk! I can't wait for him to fall.

There was a guy that came over to look at the Beta when I sold it, I don't know how he found out about it because it never left the yard, he didn't like the price but came back 6 months later after I sold it, kinda squirrley, I don't recommend hanging around with people who ride trials.
