Hey tramp if you are ever on the Northway in saratoga county NY about a half a mile south of exit 10 where i got passed you would see i was going down a hill so that will show you when i looked in my mirror the officer was on the other side of the hill that is why i did not see him. All I am saying is does he really need to be doing about 130MPH to intercept a car that passed me at about 85MPH. I was about half way down the hill as i was past the car i was over taking he had plenty of time to slowdown. I want you to experience the same thing i did so you see where i am coming from. There is always one in a bunch. OFF

Maybe you should post the same story here then instead of changing it. Guess I have all the facts now ( or do I) If you had stated you were going downhill in the first place maybe the tone of the post would be different but to go and call someone an A hole and tell them to screw themselves because of different views on the subject is childish.

seems to me NO...I repeat NO LEO should ever be going even close to 130 unless it was a life or death situation, and even then its not a good call. Even with training their are so many variables on the roads that the officer is putting in danger everyone on that road(and it is his job to protect them). Now granted we are a group of riders of high speed vehicles which some of us do ride outside the law. And honestly speaking a LEO should have the right to chase down a high speed law breaker, but the public safety should come first. And then there are the idiots who see the flashers behind them and fail to move or move slower than a dead person, or even worse make a idiot reaction to the light.

As for you guys fighting...better watch it or that same LEO may be carrying you off to jail.

Not just childish, but also a violation of the BadWeb rules that we all had to agree to follow as a condition for being a member of this forum:

I will not post profane language, nor will I engage in personal attacks or in derision in any form of other users of the board. I agree to treat with respect and courtesy all members of this online Buell enthusiasts' community. I realize that there is never any justification to violate this policy, and that if I do, I may forfeit my BadWeB posting privileges.

Keep it civil, guys. Disagree and argue all you want, but belay the personal attacks and flaming, please.

No fighting here I just happen to see both sides here and agree and disagree with both, The very reason you have stated is why a lot of departments have a no chase policy..risk is not worth the benefit. and in the area spoken about a radio call to another cop up the road would have been the smarter choice.

none of us were riding in the car with the officer,

Paw You did NOT get PASTED, can you realy second guess the officer here, one last thought

IF YOU COMPLAIN AND MAKE YOUR SELF KNOWN TO THIS GROUP THEY WILL BE MORE LIKELY TO BE LOOKING OUT FOR YOU, NEXT TIME YOU ARE 11MPH OVER THE LIMIT, ................

It's never a good idea to Pi$$ off the constabulary .........ever,

From the porch Oldog.

Paw said:If anything like this happens to you i do not want to see you post about it you will not have the right to say a damn thing about a cop passing you in an unsafe manner.

Who the hell are you to tell me my rights? If YOU will reread MY post, you will see that I said the following: "I don't think you were in any danger, my opinion is that you got startled and it pissed you off real good. And you're not wrong to be upset about it at all."

What part of OPINION don't you understand? Kiss my hind end. How's that for freedom of speech.

I can understand that leo's are trained to drive at speed, but i'd like to know if they have been trained to type and drive at the same time at 70mph( yes I was in the car w/ him;no not in the good way that time).

I must say I do agree w/ oldog on pi$$ off the leos. But then again the chp here seem to let me do whatever I deem safe most of the time( have even apolgised to them about breaking speed limit and was told "What speed limit?" or "Good call". Granted that was in work truck shhhh.)

sounds like it was an unsafe move, regardless.
why does that make ME an "A$$hole"?
save that for an in-person meeting, please. I'm only 2.5 hours away, and I stop through there fquently, to visit some skidmore buddies.
why isn't this guy banned, anyway?
I would hope I would be banned if I called soemone an a$$hole here

yep, glitch- that's why i didn't call anyone names.
your little 'ass holes included' jab is prety hypocritical an un-custodial for someone talking about moving to the positive.

if you're going to represent the mgt., try to do it in a fashion consistent with the rules of the board.
you just referred to "someoene" as an ass hole....

How about we recognize the trees in this forest for once? Paw has a very familiar smell...

And another thing how about a stiffer warning for someone throwing expletives around after his 20th post!!!!?!?!?

glitch, it's extremely easy to IP bounce.

even without the software, one can simply have a friend log on from another location, and then instruct, via telephone or email, the friend in what to say.
this is one of the reasons i've gotten a laugh out of people playing detective with IP addresses.

look at it like this:
I call/email pwnzor: I ask him to log on to MY badweb acc't. (and I could have many)from california.
Then, I tell him, over the phone, what to type, or I simply email it to him, while he keeps two windows open, and he cuts and pastes.
much more common procedure than you might think.
again, there's simple software for digital "bouncing", as well.

Yeah, or he can just use a remote pc with VPN or GoToMyPC or some such.

It may not in fact be who I'm thinking of, but nipping this in the bud is probably still a sound concept.

the guy is NOT a native new yorker, i can tell you that much, but he IS North american, i can guarantee that, as well.

It's the tone that is familiar to me, Tramp, not the actual words. 71sportster being an extreme example of someone who starts off quiet, worms his way into a conversation and then starts bomb-throwing.

Anytime I see someone sounding off like that after 20 posts I'm going to call "shenantics".

ps: its a combination of shenanigans and antics, my youngest taught me that one yesterday!

Tramp, all that is very well know in my chosen career. That was just a simple answer. I need no primer in internet security or forensics. It's what I do for a living. I just made my statement as simple as I could for the lowest common denominator.
Besides it's the details you know not.
No biggie.

'someone' should take some time away from badweb....'someone's' in no mind for custodial service at this point.
take a week and get back here nice and healthy.

Well this got very interesting since my 10 day vacation to Arkansas. Just got back and see a lot as been said about the hill i was on and i should have mentioned it in my original post. Someone stated it might not have got this bad. Well maybe if some people would ask where i was and what the road conditions were like maybe things would not have gotten to the point they did. Do you agree with that? First of all i will be the man here and say i'm sorry if i upset anyone. Maybe you won't have to keep begging the moderators to ban me. How about i just leave on my own?

Humility is good.

I can tell you based on first hand experience that feeling like one always has to be right, prove oneself right, know everything about anything while remaining vigilant in schooling others in their wrongness can to lead to excessive crankiness and indignation.

It don't do much for making friends either.

Humble is better. : )
