See "how I spent my summer vacation" in the Tales section: http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/6817/215093.html?1153485496

Buell sightings- Only saw a Blast for the first 3 days. Later saw 3 XB12Rs parked at Deals Gap. Passed a black XB12S on the Dragon one day and later saw his bike at Deals Gap. Finally, I passed a black/silver S3 on 28 a few miles from Fontana when I was leaving yesterday.

I was there but was on an R1200ST (last leg of a 2700 mile loop). Ran into XBrad9r and saw a yellow R. I think I passed you about 2:00 Sunday. I was headed home East and I saw a tuber headed West. Was that you?

Mike,

It might have been me. I was probably on highway 75/19 about that time headed from Maggie Valley (Wheels Through Time museum) back to Fontana.

2700 miles! Are you getting ready for the next Iron Butt Rally?

How come we always have this tendancy to pass in the opposite directions? I'm sure it was you. Sorry we didn't hook up. I took the boy up Ceasar's head at one point during the trip. What a blast. He sat on the back for a 700 mile day without a complaint. 'Course he cut his teeth on the back of an Ascot at the Gap. Remember that? Hope to see ya soon.

Dang, that's pretty wild. Glad you enjoyed Caesar's Head. 276 is a great road when the traffic isn't bad. 178 (about 10 miles west of 276) is even better if you ever get back that way.

You did break your son in properly on the Ascot. My son declined an offer to ride the Dragon on the back of my Buell, but my wife enjoyed it very much.

Oh well, eventually you and I are gonna meet up riding in the same direction one of these days!

Kristi,

Thanks very much for the note. It's awfully hard for me to plan that far in advance right now, but I'd love to join y'all. Maybe I can work it out.
