There's no bread, let them eat cake
There's no end to what they'll take
Flaunt the fruits of noble birth
Wash the salt into the earth

But they're marching to Bastille Day
La guillotine will claim her bloody prize
Free the dungeons of the innocent
The king will kneel and let his kingdom rise

Bloodstained velvet, dirty lace
Naked fear on every face
See them bow their heads to die
As we would bow as they rode by

And we're marching to Bastille Day
La guillotine will claim her bloody prize
Sing, oh choirs of cacophony
The king has kneeled, to let his kingdom rise

Lessons taught but never learned
All around us anger burns
Guide the future by the past
Long ago the mould was cast

For they marched up to Bastille Day
La guillotine claimed her bloody prize
Hear the echoes of the centuries
Power isn't all that money buys

Had a great day, watched the annual parade on the TV, lazed in the pool, went out for a rumble in the Dodge, bit of dinner, then a big firework display to round out the day.

Funnily enough I was passing Chateaudun air base last week when they were practising the flypast for the parade, so I got an up close & personal preview. Well impressive!

Why I hate the French

F*** their great, well maintained, road system

F*** their cops, and their motorists, who have a great respect for bikers

F*** their cheap housing

F*** their medical system, which offers free treatment to all, regardless of their color

F*** their women, who think oral sex is a natural way of spending an hour a day, at least

F*** their wine, and cheese, and good food.

And lastly, f*** the help the French republic gave to the states during the war of succession

And F*** the politicians who control what you think Voila

Hey, if it wasn't for the French Revolution, the white chunk of my ethnic background wouldn't be here in the glorious United States of America.

Yeah...we bravely turned our tails and fled. (RUN AWAY! RUN AWAY!)

We're lovers...not fighters. I leave part that to my Injun side.

There's a very blurry line between cowardice & pragmatism.
