Well here we go again. There is a 15,000 acre fire burning out of control just East of Big Bear right now. Night is coming and the winds are supposed to stay up for quite awhile tonight.

After the fires where I live and the entire running for my life, losing my business and being unsure of my home thing I really feel for these people. Homes are being lost, lives are being changed.

I remember not running out to look off the Rim everytime I heard more than a couple of sirens...............

I wish them all luck.

I am thankful that my home is at very low risk to fire, flood, or landslide. As a child I was in Corona near 91 and Green River when both sides of the freeway were completely engulfed in leaping flames as far as my eyes could see. I remember thinking it must be the devil coming. I've never been that scared again in my life.

I wish those families and firefighters Godspeed.

I recall being confined to bed/wheelchair when we got evacuated from San Diego a few years ago.

Scary stuff. I also was part of a crew that worked on the big Oakland fire back in 91 or 92?

Fire can be vicious. A great servant, a terrible master.

They are currently airlifting residents out as their area is cut off by fire. This is going to be bad. All reports in are scary.
I wish them all the best. I can only hope the firebugs don't figure it out.........

From scanner:

"burning down the ridge, we're going to stay here and herd people out the Big Bear way if it comes. (Possible explanation: The fire has cut off Pioneertown and Rimrock, so anyone left west of the fire will be herded out on 2N02 and out Baldwin Lake. That is IF the fire progresses west.)

report of missing person: 1:41pm last contact with father; last location was Pioneertown Canyon cross of Pipes Canyon {gave address}

I go online to www.bigbearscanner.com
It takes a minute to load up. I have no idea of the actual freq.

From scanner just a couple of minutes ago.

Air attack:

We just had some personnel go to a safety zone where we extracted all 8 fire personnel with no fire fighter injuries. I'd put it between 40,000 and 70,000 acres now, with the potential to go to 100,000.

Sucks I wish I could help.
