About 5'8", camo glock hat, and the Buell on the belly stretched a bit???

Nope, not me. My father in law, though...so I might have been with him, depending on when you saw him.

I'm 6'1", um, full sized, and had my black Buell hat on.

Another guy, Joe, is tall and was wearing his Buell hat, but he's got long grey hair...

...Only the "Whiner's Group" would schedule something like that on the same weekend as Laguna....

?????
what's the difference? most of the serious bmw riders will ride coast-to-coast for these things...and many live in the heartland.
also, MANY of us easterners flew to laguna.
had the whiners' group scheduled it for next weekend, they would have gotten a much bigger turnout.

By the way, what's with this "Whiner's" nonsense??

And they already broke their previous record for attendance at a National (set last year in Ohio). Not every motorcyclist is interested in racing, shocking as that may seem. Just as not every motorcyclist is into drinking at topless bars and raising hell (but you'd never know that if you went to Daytona Beach or Myrtle Beach).

Put it this way: BMW Riders would rather RIDE than watch someone else do it.

"Whiners' Group" is the monniker we folks in BMW Service have ('had', in my case)always referred to the "Owners' Group" as....

BMW riders might find Races interesting if the company ever actually produced another remotely competitive machine.
alas, the days of the r90s are long dead.....

lecture someoene else about "riding", please.
I know VERY few BMW riders who put the mileage on their scoots that I put on my Buell, annually...
I just don't ride with 3 gps units, heated grips and a big aerostitch disco-bondage snowboard suit in g*ddam July.....
(and I see NO BMWs on the roads of New york state in January)

Then you've never been down on Long Island. 10 years and I put 158,000 miles on my 1985 K100 till it was stolen in November of 1995. My 1999 K1200LT now has 96,000 miles. I would have over 100,000 miles on it had I not put 36,000 miles on my 2000 M2 Cyclone and 6,600 miles on my 2006 XB12Ss. How does that compare with your Buell mileage?

And I'd rather wear my Aerostich suit in July than shorts, a tank top and moccasins like the GSXR rider I passed the other night.

Maybe BMW Riders will be interested in MotoGP if the long-rumored BMW MotoGP bike becomes a reality next year. On the other hand, maybe not. Just like Buell riders, BMW riders don't buy bikes for how well they do on the track; they buy them to ride on real world roads.

Hmmmmmm... if you referred to your customers as "Whiners" I can guess what kind of customer service your shop provided. Based on what the Buellers here have been saying about their servicing Harley dealers, I'd have to say that's something else Buell and BMW owners have in common.

All I'll say is the new generation boxer is one NICE machine. Fast, capable, efficient, and agile. I customarily trade bikes at the drop of a hat but I'm beginning to believe my 05' R1200ST is a keeper. Hands down, the best all-arounder I've ever ridden. I have no add-on devices (farkles?) on it, ride in whatever I feel like, and my tech (when I use one) seems to actually like his customers.

do not get me wrong, i'm a huge fan of beemers, esp, boxers...
I'll get my neighbor to scan some shots of some big-displacement /7s I've built.
Used to freak out the squids at Alice's, blasting by on a loudass, drag-piped 1240 cc 1970s boxer in full wheelie mode....
ahhhhh the smell of avgas and redwoods...inseparable, really
