man that sucks, i hate to see it happen to anyone! Justs reminds me how little things like pulling off to the side of the road, or driveway like you do everyday can lead to the unthinkable! He never had a chance to know what happend.

BTW, i just thought!! Is this a concern since it was a Uly with dirt/street tires that it got loose? i know alot of you use this bike for what it was made for...dirt/street. DO these tires need a second thought? I dont own one, but i do own a Lightning Long(same chassis, differnt tires) and it could be anything but the tires i would like to know!!

You shouldn't read anything into what happened.

I did not read anything about tires in that thread.

I've been running DOT Dirt Tires on my DR650 for the past three years and apart from steep lean angles that require sliding on pavement the tires are good.

I'd say it was an accident.

RIP Kevin.

Don't confuse the 616s with dirt tires; they're street tires, pure and simple. Even Dunlop's own website confirms this. The only reason they need a second thought is because the tread life sucks.

This doesn't appear to have anything to do with tires. It sounds like a freak accident.

Dirt is loose no matter what tires you're on.

That is the best picture of a Uly I've ever come across.

RIP Kevin.

How tragic. Roadsides are very dangerous places.

There is an XR1000 in the background of that picture.

WOW good eye Djkaplan! At first glance I thought it was a Sportster. I wonder who his heir is, and if they will realize what they have there...
