Is it just me or will the Discovery Channel make a show about ANY nut-job that can fabricate a gas tank and weld it to a modified Harley Davidson? To any of you that like "Custom" choppers, I'm sorry, but I REALLY hope this stupid fad is over soon. I'm sick of it.

BTW If it weren't for the fact that the Vikings haven't won the Superbowl, I would have considered the first time I saw a "squid" on a ricer wearing an "OCC" t-shirt a sure sign that the end of the world was nigh.

To those of you from Minnesota, the Vikings thing was a joke. I've said for years that the Vikings winning the Superbowl is a sure sign that the end of time was here. I'm a Vikings fan. I grew up in MN.

Funny how the OCC B.S is cooling off. Now they are trying to do service work. Cant wait to see how that works out.

Tramp, these stitches are itching just terrible and my wife won't take 'em out. Any suggestions? I'm not sure I want to wait until Friday, when I'm scheduled to get them removed.

yep- get a set o' those li'l tiny nail scissors-OR a good swiss army knife wiuth the tiny scissors in 'em, and snip those bastards out, and secure it with either butterflies or li'l strips of duct tape. you can secure most any wound with duct tape, and the adhesive kills warts.
take those puppies the hell out, though.
and pour good (91%) isopropyl all over it- that'll help with the itching and any associated necroses.(that's not a typo..it's plural)
always a pleasure to hear from ya, jonny!

Tramp,
Much thanks as always. I forgot to mention that the offending stitches are on the back of my neck, from where I had a presumably benign tumor removed for the second time last week.

I could trya mirror, but I think I would need more stitches...Enough of my bitchin'

use a mirror, and take a few practice snips on somepieces of duct tape stuck on your skin near the sutures. once you have it down, go for it. i had to suture the top of my own scalp, once. man, did that hurt.
worse was suturing a guy's scrotum after he'd stepped on a mine. he was perfectly fine except for a gash on his inner thigh, and one through his scrotum. just try giving someone a lido shot in their torn scrotum.
makes small neck sutures seem like a lullabye... whenever i'm in severe pain, i just think about that poor fella.

the problem with weekend warriors is this:

They hog the entire lane, weaving back and forth. They don't like to let other bikes pass, getting all pissed off when you have to force your way around them and they rest of their nancy-boy riding posse. And they like to hang around the only available gas pump as if it were the water cooler in their office. Overall, just flat out inconsiderate.

It's actually and entirely their's to do so with...

You should never occupy the same lanespace, for passing or otherwise. See above link. It is not safe and where-ever I've seen official reference to it, it's against the law / rules of the road.

That's Jerseyguys' bike Vinnie is riding. If he would have seen the abuse Vinnie and the boys did to my buddies rental mopeds, he might not have handed over the keys so fast. They shot an episode here in Ocean City, Maryland and you can watch them beating on the mopeds but not on Steves' bike.

Whether lane splitting is legal or not, in Calfornia if you have more than 5 vehicles behind you when you are moving at below the speed limit you are supposed to move over and let them pass. Usually its only posted on 2 lane roads but it is the law statewide here.

Are you actually advocating road-hogging behavior? I can't believe it. Say it isn't so.

Come on down to Santiago Canyon and see the yuppies in bermuda shorts on their fatboys every Saturday and Sunday. You won't see those guys on their bikes any other day of the week and they act as if they own the pavement. That's Orange County for you.

The bright side of it all is that all the attention motorcycles are getting latlely is do in small(or large part) to these "chopper" shows. This means when you need to sell your bike to upgrade to the next best thing you might get a better price on it because it seems right now everyone wants a bike because of these "chopper" shows.

Nope. It ain't so. Only asking that you not endanger others yourself by invading their operating space. Regardless of whether they are using it well, they will not (and should not) expect you to be in it...

I think it bodes well for us in traffic as well. More people who are bike aware and likely to notice us.

Choppers aren't going anywhere soon. Big Dog for instance is producing there 20,000th bike this year. They did it in 12 years. Thats actually a huge achievement. Buell did 25,000 back in the year 2000. Takes alot to keep the wheels turning.

I would like to do something custom, but different... I am envisioning 3 wheels... 2 up front, one in the rear, with a 1400cc motor. Similar to the T-Rex.. that thing is wicked, but quite expensive.
That would be cool to see a show about something like that.
