my 5'2" 105lbs wife just sat on a 05 blast with a low seat and it fit her perfect so you should be more then big enough for one.

hey miss - i'm 5'5" (a touch more than 115) as well and the regular ( not low ) seat on the blast fit me really well. i think its a 27.5" seat height. having my feet SOLIDLY on the ground was a really nice confidence builder when i was getting back into riding after a 6 year break.

after 2000 miles on that blast, i got an XB9SL (which now, you'd be getting a XB12cg) and although i'm not flat footed, i do have both feet on the ground. that low version of the XB is a 28.3" seat height.

the city cross is considerably taller. the seat height is over 30" and i was never comfortable on that for the street. i'm on a firebolt on the track, and thats fine because there's not a whole lot of slow speed manuevering -- but just for the sake of being able to move it around in the paddock, i removed the seat from my firebolt.

my 5 cents, as a 5'5" female rider

Thanks Buellgirlie - sounds like I could learn a hell of a lot from you! I plan on running with 3%ers, but I DON'T plan on being in the back. : )

Talk to you in the morning Glitch. Give the Misses a hug for me!

miss - be glad to help! feel free to ask here or PM me anytime.

btw - you ARE taking a riding course, right? riding with the 3%ers is great, AFTER you've had a safe, private, objective place to learn and practice on your own a bit?

Don't worry - I will make sure that I am more than prepared to ride with them. Even if I didn't think that, there are a lot of guys out here that are looking out for me and won't let me do anything I am not ready for.

I checked out your myspace page and hope that you are feeling better!! Thoughts and prayers headed your way!

true - but you never want to look silly or be the slowest in a group, especially of friends. and that can lead to some dangerous decisions - which may or may not work out. you'll scare yourself silly before anyone else even notices, and that sux!

just keep your wits about it and ride YOUR ride. you go girl

(thanks for the good wishes, i'm getting way better!!! walking and talking normally now, wish i could sleep normally...)

She's in good hands.
We've had many beginners start with us.
We preach good habits, and insist on Rider's Edge or MSF course.
I personally would NEVER let anything happen to M_B. NEVER!

seriously, just take care of the newbies. its good for everyone, and sometimes its hard for people to remember what it felt like to be new. i'm running into a little bit that on the racetrack now...everyone was a rookie racer at SOME point! sheeesh.

Miss Behavin isn't gonna do anything that would put her in danger. That's why she rides with me. We'll probably end up getting her a blast from my dealer this month or next. Thanks for all the advice. Who knows, I might give her my 9 and buy a Uly!

Tramp- why would they go out for milk when they have the cow at home?

hey miss - my blast had the factory race kit, and some pirelli tire.s it could do 90 easily, and push to 100. that was more than enough for me in the curves. i will admit, that on the highway, sometimes, at 65-70, it felt like i didnt have enough power to pass. but you'll learn a TON on the blast, and the learnings are to be had on the curves (*anyone* can twist the throttle and go straight). i rode the whole summer of 2004 on that blast, with a moto guzzi 1100 someting, honda vfr, suzuki sv650, and ducati monster 900 and did just fine.

also, it survives drops really well. i, luckily, didnt drop mine (though i've dropped a few since then in random situations, including leading a ride ) i had a friend who also had a blast that summer and her comment was something like "it almost bounces back up" when you drop it! : )

I remember two "first times" distinctly.

The first "first time" involved a 750cc inline 4, no shoes, no shirt, no helmet.

The second "first time" also had no shoes, shirt or helmet but it involved a lot of blood and a few awkward moments.
