So we drove up to Orlando this weekend to see the Motorcycle exhibit at the Orlando Museum of Art. If you have the chance to get to this exhibit before July 23rd..GO GO GO...you will not regret one moment of it. What an amazing display of bikes... When I get the pictures cropped I'll post a few... Here's a gorgeous Crocker for starters..

Today @ lunch, A neighbor down the street saw me pull into my yard on the buell. He walk over and Said he had something to show me. We walked over to his barn he opened the doors. And there they were. 2 kawa gpz's 3 old triumphs old BSA and norton comando They all looked awsome, None had more than 7k miles. Then we walk to a little room and he showed me his Hurricane x75. I looked brand friggen new! Like the one from that pic above. Let's just say I made a friend today. |

In Vegas there were no pics allowed. at all. In Memphis you could buy a pass and take pics. I also highly reccomend seeing the show. I have now seen 3 of the ten Brittens in person. The 2 AotM shows had different ones, and the one at the Barber Museum. That's another "Must see" I also really liked morbidelli v-8 bike. beautiful pipes, kinda like the Britten's "spaghetti knots" |

Court was telling me that for the Buells are the only bikes actually ridden to the Guggenheim shows for display. everything else is trailered in all clean, pretty, and un-rideable as they sit there. Most have no oil in them so that they can't leak. We agree that if it can't move under it's own power it's not a motorcycle. It's just a sculpture. |

nice shots- esp the trumpet x. that antique racer photo is a board-track racer- the coolest motorsport there ever was, in my opinion. it's not just a sculpture if it's ever run in the past, or will run when fuel and lube are added. it's still a motorcycle. when my belt breaks, trust me- my s2 rat is NO object d'art...it's still a detestable wad of grease and alloys. |

Like I said you got me started....
Angel- didn't it feel like the the Britten and Buell area was its own? What a tribute to Erik and John. I have the Britten tape, poster. And the whole exhibit, I saw it in Chicago when it first opened. |

If you haven't seen it the video that was done about John Britten and his bikes is great!!!! After seeing Worlds Fastest Indian over the weekend I like the Britten video better, but both were amazing people from NZ. |

Coolice..yeah, that was fantastic..seeing them so close together in the exhibit! Kind of a fitting tribute to both men! I have very large picture files of all these bikes, I took pics of almost everything there... so if anyone wants close ups of anything specific, i can send the massive files...if you have the space. The pics I posted here are just to get a taste and not clog up the board.. |

Martin's Series C Black Shadow. Note headlamp nacelle. You can just make out the rim of the Cartier clock. This 'extra' is worth £3000 today! Mart is an all year round biker, with several bikes owned, and the Vinny is no exception where use or mileage is concerned. Last time he came down my workshop on it, it was snowing. He's done a number of practical modifications to the Vinny, including 12v electrics and electronic ignition. Mart is only the third owner of this 1959 registered from new Vincent. He bought it about 7 years ago from the second owner . That gentleman had never ridden it any real distance, having kept it as part of a private collection of bikes. Mart was in touch with the Vincent Owners Club once he'd bought it, and much to his surprise the VOC furnished him with the name and address of the first owner, a Scottish fella who as it happens was still in the land of the living. Martin called him up and was told a good few tales of the bike and its travels. The first major journey of this Vincent was Scotland to Istanbul, and back - in 1959! Rocket |

That's a very cool shot on a number of levels. The weird thing? First shot I've ever seen of a Buell and a Vincent together, even though I've always expected the visual parallels to be snapped. The treetrunk in the background really ties in some sort of syd barret/robert smith undertone for me |
