I feel ya' on this one...I must be missing something..I feel quite dumbfounded by this particular promo...

sorry, hope this doesn't start a flame war.. nothing personal against the band...just can't see how this promo...ugh..nevermind, I HAVE to be missing something...I mean, maybe if the members of Reverend Horton Heat or something were riding around from show to show on a Buell.....

If I recall correctly Erik thinks Queensryche is the shit. I like 'em good enough to see 'em for free. I signed up.

I figured it must be something like that, because when a band's big SEQUEL album comes out EIGHTEEN years after the last one..well, I'd say they really left their fans a-hangin'..

From the buell site...
They'll be promoting the band's latest CD* - Operation: Mindcrime II, a sequel to the band's 1988 platinum-certified concept album.

Erik made a guitar for the lead guitarist for this tour. It was painted by badwebber Stou.

Yeah, I'd say Erik is a fan of queensryche

It's not like they didn't do anything after Mindcrime. It just happens to be the biggest thing they ever did.

Ok ok, just sayin'...no offense to the fans out there and of course I didn't know Erik was such a big fan. You know, just seemed like an odd choice of promotional ideas...
rock on! lol

Hey, the guys from Queensryche just happen to be very cool and two of them are serious riders. I mean real riders, not posers on choppers. And Erik is a big fan of Save The Music, which is really what the promotion is all about. The tour ride Queensryche is doing is raising money for schools to keep music classes going. In this age of budget cuts, there is a serious problem with the survival of these especially in communities where finances are short. So, if you like music, join in!

save the music is a great initiative -- while musical tastes vary, it's tough to not smile at the thought of musicians working together to fund music programs in schools

+1 on the support for the program

>It just happens to be the biggest thing they ever did.

Empire and "Silent Lucidity" far over-shadow Mindcrime for popularity.

The new album is the 10th since Mindcrime including a greatest hits and three live albums.

>big SEQUEL album comes out EIGHTEEN years
Meatloaf: Bat out of hell 1977, Bat out of Hell II 1993
Boston went 76, 78, 90 but I don't know if I'd call them sequals.

Who else has done "real" sequel albums? King Diamond? Concept albums are kind of few and far between to begin with. I'm waiting for Tommy II tho.

If it's for 'save the music', then it's all good..totally...and people who were big into the band at that time are mainly in the parent age bracket now, so if it gets the word out and helps fund the arts in school, well, i'm definitely for that... anything that advances our youth in a constructive and creative way is a plus... hopefully they'll raise a lot more money than a bake-sale would!!!

>>>>The RIAA says sharing music is illegal

Let me quickly dispatch myself and recompute the new total for illegal and unpopular things I've done.

: )

I, at the time I composiated that, was thinking more of "playing" it. . . . what we call "gigging". . . . but the more I think about me actually sharing **MY** music, I'm wandering if I'd not subject myself to assault charges.

You are such a nerd!
