Takin' me back about 35 years, here!

As long as I'm limping down memory lane, here's a shot from that same era, I've posted it before, but I like to reminisce about my Triumph. The longer it's been since I've ridden one, they better they get in my memory!

looks to be a tr6r...roughly '68? hard to see if the heat sink for the zener's under the trees, an I can't tell the colour, plus it's a solid, which was...er...'rare'.
'zat open points or is there some kind of half-baked mini-mag in thar'?
nice sled, great photo.
you look like the big scary ex-ball player who plays the bounty hunter in 'raising arizona' ....er...that's a compliment, thang....please don't come lookin' fer me...
waiddaminnit- now it looks more like a daytona....
hmmmm....

Good eyes, trampster, it's a '70 tr6r. I don't think the '68's had the tls front brake...I owned that bike from the day after I left Uncle Sam's service in 6/71 until 1/93, when I sold it prior to moving overseas (ironically, back to SE Asia!) 3 top end jobs, 1 bottom, 1 clutch in about 50,000 miles. Not bad for a sorely abused Strumpet...

Nothing 'rare' about the solid color, it was the finest rattle-can Rustoleum black that money could buy. Points cover, too, except where my big foot rubbed it off...

yep- that's why i put quotes around 'rare'. most of mine had the same 'rare' paint scheme, as well.
i'm sure you're right about that leading-shoe. the '68 didn't have the cool little screens, now that i think about it.
'70 was, arguably, the bets year for any triumph 650. helluva year for the t120, alright. i had a couple tr6rs with t120 tops....had to use little foam air-cleaners, because the stockers wouldn't fit in that frame.
great bike- i'll try to get a neighbor to sacn a shot of one-a mine.

Agreed, '70 was the best year for the "dry frame" 650's-TLS front brakes and a removable cover in the primary so you could use a strobe to time 'em.

I've got a '66 in the barn awaiting "restoration" right now. It's probably going to be street-tracker style. I'd love to find a skinny tank--know of any available?

The Lone Biker of the Apocolypes!

That's who I wanna be when I grow up! Leaving flames in my wake wherever I ride, shotgun slung behind my back . . . .

Raising Az is the funniest movie known to upright human kind -- thanks for reminding me, Tramp

That's IT, Bombs! The Lone Biker Of The Apocalypse!!!!!
That's RT in that Photo-
RT- yep- there are quite a few firms who deal in the trackster stuff.
actually, an old friend of mine, near here, makes his living building beautiful 1960s Triumph track irons- joe hunt mags, dunstalls, etc. I could put ya in touch.
I never liked the frame-oilers. first one I ever owned (a '71 in around '82) I filled with the correct amount of oil ...for a tank-oiler.
ooops. rooster tails of black gold...texas tea.....

Seeing as it's my birfday soon, allow me the liberty of my fave Triumph shot (again yawn....) lol.
