when the service manager calls you about your brand new Xb12 (that you just picked up last two weeks ago and dropped off for service) and tells you , "Hey, man sorry we dropped your bike.". Today is my only day off and I had planned to install CRGs, heat shields and new grips. AHHHHHHHHHHH!
They broke the clutch lever, peg and mirror. Of course they are going to replace it, but they will have it ready by tomorrow (off course he delivered that part like a jingle as if I should praise him for fixing my brand new bike so quickly). I am sooooooo pissed I cant see straight! Next stop store manager.

When I talk to manager he also informs me that the shifter snapped and the primary cover got scratched. Thanks for the honesty shop manager.

They had replaced the Left side mirror, bar end, shifter and peg.

So I pick it up and it looks ok except for the dinged primary (which they are going to replace) and the rubber on the shifter is torn (which I also pointed out). The shop manager doesn't even apologize when I see him, treats me like I screwed up.

I ride it home and I can't seem to get it to shift down through the gears while stopped without popping the clutch. Upon further inspection I find that they used the same bolt to re-attatch the shifter. I know because the indention is filled with asphalt and the rim is knarled up.

I am going to call the store manager in the Am to vent. I have been warned that there may be some potential for bending something attached to shifter. What is the probability and could this be a cause for my inability to downshift with out popping clutch? Any suggestions for potential problems would be appreciated.

I am just really bummed, new bike and I have to live with a dinged bike by no fault of my own. It will be fixed but I just have the episode in the back of my mind.

ask em to fix it right, thank them when they do, and enjoy your motorcycle

ya might want to ask for a free service visit --

if they continue to act as if you screwed up, take your custom elsewhere, after you tell em, politely, why you are doing so

it's a motorcycle -- if it's broke, it's fixable
