How about Germany getting smashed because of it's no defense...? The stadium in Munchin is AWESOME! No, I didn't go to a game... just walked around it after they decorated it up. |

Helps when your wife is from Ecuador My co-workers were wondering why I was wearing a strange jersey to work today. ... and now that the games have started she has ok'ed a high-def TV and Tivo setup since ESPN2HD is carrying all the games ! I hope Hurtado is ok. ECU looks real good to advance now. Hope Germany doesn't clean our clock too much. The GER/CR game sounded good, too bad CR couldn't keep it closer. |

Brilliant goal by Frings in the 87th minute! He had to be close to 40 yards away and rockets a bending-rising-nasty shot to the back of the net. England plays at 6am local time...dunno if I'll be up for that one. Damn I need TIVO... |

Germany Smashed? Huh? Last I heard it was 4 - 2 Duetchland uber Costa Rica... So how do you see them getting smashed? I don't think either team had much defense to start with.. Not that I got to see the match.. Now Then.. I'm not sure about the Aussies getting spanked by Brazil although they are a traditional powerhouse. Australia hasn't exactly been a doormat over the years. So it should be a pretty good game. So, what do folks think of England - Paraguy? That's coming up.. Then there's the US vs. the Cheks.. Hmmmm.. What are the odds of Team USA making it to the Semis again? Italy (last time I heard) should be pretty strong this time around.. Damn.. It's all a guessing game huh? I don't know much about the rest of the teams any one else got an idea or three? |

I remember many years ago working the World Cup Soccer games at the Pontiac Silverdome: Fans from all over the world came to watch, stripped half naked in the parking lot with their chests painted green, and nobody speaking a word of engrish but the bus drivers! Soccer peoples are a strange breed. |

Blublak - Germany has a very weak defense and seems to be more "driven to offense". Sure, they are a great team, all are all the teams; but I don't see them going very far due to their tactics... especially not if they plan to face England - who has one of the best defenses around. Swampy - strange breed indeed, all I see here are jerseys...flags...and facepaint and all I hear are the chants. |

I grew up playing soccer as my "primary" sport. Sometimes I felt like an outcast in the world of Little League and Peewee Football, and soccer players usually didn't have anywhere else to go. I played anywhere I could and had a lot of fun. A lot of people don't realize that it is probably one of the hardest sports around. You take a physical beating every game, you're always running, no timeouts, usually no subs, you have to be coordinated and you have to be fast. I gotta admit I'm paying for it now, the injuries I had to my ankles and knees from all that running, and a few wicked slide tackles, are starting to catch up to me. But I'm glad "futbol" in the U.S. is starting to get the recognition it deserves. FB2 |

Guys...you'll sound like a bunch of Buell bashers! Just 'cuz it's not your cup of tea doesn't mean it sucks. If you don't understand it, doesn't mean it sucks. Sound like the explanations you have to give someone bashing your Buell? Soccer fans in the US get this same shit every 4 years when the world cup rolls around. If you ain't interested in the Cup, then don't post. Rant off... By the way, the US is getting spanked by the Czech's...not looking good. |

Worst officiated game EVER! The US finally had some snap in their play and looked really good. To bad the ref had to go and muck things up real good.... |
