I got my 99 S3 into the 11’s (11.98 @ 113.41 mph) last night at New England Dragway for the 1st time!

Even better than that (well almost) was when I was talking to a guy on a Suzuki TL1000 about his bike (I was looking for someone to run with who didn’t turn 9’s and at least it was a twin) and asked him what it ran. He replied “ I need to keep it under 120 so I have been lifting and don’t know what it will run” (over 120 you need leather pants and a tether, neither of which he had).
So I asked what he was running in the 1/8 and he handed me his time slip. From that I could see that he wasn’t going any quicker in the 1/8th than I was so I suggested we line up. He said this was going to be his last run of the night so he wasn’t lifting.
Light turns green- I try a little to hard in the stickier right lane and wheelie and then lifted to much causing a harder than necessary landing, but hit 2nd and kept going….Here comes the finish line and I don’t see him, but I know he is coming….but he is to late! Even though he was going 5 mph faster, he never caught me!
It always feels good, no great, when you beat a faster bike because you can ride better than the other guy

That is the first time I ever heard about a Buell spanking a Japanese bike... on a straight!

You probably felt as good as the first Navy fighter pilot who was able to splash a Zero with a heavier, slower Wildcat.

Good stuff. I used to love going bracket racing.

Congratulations!

Good analogy! Though I was just happy to find a reasonably comparable bike to race! I've put it to my brothers Duc M900 too and he can ride!
