I was able to hook up that evening with one of the lasses that witnessed my riding prowess

I think we can safely conclude that she decided that was going to happen before she saw you ride.

I pulled up to a sobriety checkpoint one night on my 83 Honda CB900C... put my right foot down, no problem. Left foot down, right into a 4 inch deep pothole that the cop was standing in front of. So I fell right into him and we both went down and my leg was pinned a bit under the bike so he had to get up and lift it off my foot.

He forgot to give me a sobriety test and I went on my way.

I was sober, for the record but I went right home and remedied that situation.

Jlnance,
You may be right since I doubt she found me more appealing after my bout of stupidity. Course' then again maybe it was just the alcohol .

My best (certainly not only, lol) was when a customer at breakfast asked that I ride his FLHT back to the shop to listen to some noise; sure, I said, and sure, your wife can ride with me. I got to the shop, pulled up, stopped clean and stepped down on a pressurized garden hose, spilling the dresser and his wife unflatteringly in front of the entire HOG club.

Sorry man, I did it too. I dropped my XB12Ss the second day I had it at the dealership's front door. I couldn't turn the bars enough to balance and slowly let it down on the right side. It broke the front right blinker and scratched the frame. I went inside and ordered a new blinker and frame pucks. The right frame puck covered the scratch perfectly. I'm now very cautious maneuvering in tight places....

A week ago Friday, leaving my local tavern, hit the end of the drive and had one of those little "unstable" moments that are occasionally encountered after a few drinks and was just like the guy on Laff In, timberrrrr. Worst yet, one of the girls that had been sitting with me at he bar is standing there, looks down at me laying in the drive way and asks whether I should be driving...

After a wee( 50 minute ) 70 mile ride in 40 deg. F temps,( I had intended to stop at the 40 mile mark at a rest stop to get a pop, but passed it, then intended to stop at the 50 mile mark, ditto. Since for some reason I had put my feet on the passenger pegs at the 3 mile mark, ( oh, yeah, it was cold, I was wearing jeans & my legs were warmer that way )) When I exited the freeway, came to a stop at the light & went to put my left foot down, it just stayed on the peg. Sloooow motion "Laugh-in" bit. No witnesses, I crawled out from under, & no damage to the M2. I was a bit sore the next day. I plum forgot that old geezers lock up in the cold if you don't move.

I used to do a stupid human trick on my GS750. Pull up to a stop, put left foot on centerstand, use front brake to compress forks, tug on bars on recoil & push down with foot, bike goes on stand & there I sit, never touched ground. Till I did it in the H-D dealers lot, & one side of the stand goes into a tiny pothole. Remember the Road Runner cartoon with the catapult? Lots of witnesses for that one.
