Also, keep fellow Bueller Julian in your thoughts. He was injured a few races after Dora. Last I heard before I left the track was broken collar bone, possible broken rib and was going in for a CT Scan due to the fact he had a rather large lump under his left eye and his eye started to "wander" and he couldn't remember his home phone #. Heal fast you two. The pits won't be the same without you there. |

That's bad news. But the good news is you get to live your life... and now you have one hell of a story to tell for the rest of it. Get well and don't laugh too much... I'm pretty sure that's not good for a punctured (or anything, really). |

thanks all. really appreciate the good wishes. makes being at home slightly more tolerable.....headed to my primary care doc this afternoon. julian showed up at the ER right after me. when i left, he was just getting taken care of, and i know his wife drove there from milwaukee and was there with him. he was banged up pretty good too though at first, when kelli called (whose car keith and i had borrowed to take to hospital) and said she was coming to see us, i thought, "cool", a visitor. but then she said she had julian with and he was hurt too later last night, his wife was a sweetheart and drove half an hour to deliver a CD to me. the ER gave me and julian a CD with our CAT scans and i'll need it to take to local doc today (and worse case scenario, in case i needed it last night) i was just doing a whole lot of last place racing (racing to not be last ), but julian was actually in the top 1-3 spots for amateur in the region, and definitely the fastest buell amateur in the region as far as how i'm doing. slept on couch because its lower than my bed and less far for me to crawl off. cant move much. walk like a 90 year old with arthritis. cant breathe well, much less sneeze, laugh, etc. and my elbow, shoulder, neck, and knee have decided to join in on the head, lung, rib party. cant take narcotics because of head injury, cant take ibiprofen for fear of internal bleeding,. so i'm making do on TYLENOL. sheesh. i need more than that! with all these modern advances in science, there's not a painkiller i can take??!! anyway, i'm here, i'm ok. it hurts like hell. thx D (Message edited by buellgirlie on June 12, 2006) |

What about BEER? That worked better on me than the vicodin when I bailed on my dirtbike. I suppose the doctors would frown upon that too. Good to see you're posting. I was really starting to worry about you here. |

btw - what happened - got whacked into from behind while racing and launched over the bike. i really dont know what happened and i dont remember much of anything til i was in the ambulance either. heard later it was an expert rider who just came up on me too fast (he was lapping me), and couldnt stop/change line quickly enough. he came to our pit area and talked to paul who's a good friend, and also he apparently stabilized my head when i was thrashing about (i dont remember this........) i dont know what happened during julian's spill. great time (were it legal)for medical marijuana, frankly (pill form- thc). i don't use it, medically or otherwise, but this is the situation where it'd be the painkiller of choice. i've never had a lung punctured, broken ribs many times, though- cannot imagine what punctured lung is like. take care and do NOT 'push it'..... Holy Cow! You're leading quite the adventurous life of late Dora. If you're gonna be spending a lot of time on the couch, tell me you at least have an XBOX to live vicariously through. Get well soon! |
