Beautiful! But I would imagine, price-wise, it would have to be constructed of Unobtanium. That's the same precious metal used in Ferraris, Porsches, Ford GTs, Vipers, etc... |

Beautiful! So a four cylinder Ducati? Sounds like the land of the rising sun has some competition for the ultimate street speed bike. |

Unobtanium is right. The Ohlins superbike forks go for more then many complete bikes. |

It's nice to see that it looks like a bike instead of a sled on wheels (ZX14 and Hayabusa) |

Pretty bike... ...I can feel the carpal tunnel setting in now just thinking about those bars and that seating position. Still a pretty bike though. |

$60k AND you have to already own a Ducati 999R! So figure around $100k in bikes...But still, it's dead sexy! |

You dont HAVE to own a 999R. It just gets you closer to the top of the list. |

The Duc RR info page lists USA MSRP at $65,000 and includes a three year warranty. That seems like a heck of a deal. Though still in the realm of "if you have to ask, you probably can't afford it." I thought GP motorcycles were prohibited from being released commercially to the public as street bikes. Did I misunderstand? Maybe the rule is that GP bikes must not be derived from existing street bikes, but that the converse is acceptable. Wow, if that is the case, I'm surprised Honda hasn't similarly capitalized on their RS211V GP racing machine. Why would you advertise "sand cast" cases? It doesn't get any more low tech than sand casting. Not that there is anything wrong with it; it's perfectly good manufacturing practice, but it is near prehistoric technology. Just seems strange that Ducati would tout that kind of technology as part of their marketing campaign for a $65K motorcycle. |

Trickle-down technology - I want $60k mirror/turn signals like that on my $6k Firebolt! |

The 989cc Desmo-Four is not going to be the MotoGP bike of 2007, because they are dropping the Engine capacity limit to 800cc. So, a 1-liter production bike has nothing to do with a 0.8-liter race bike, at least from a rule-book point of view. |

Beautiful bike but that saddle looks pretty damned uncomfortable... I wouldn't turn it down though if someone wanted to give me one... |

kinda puts things in perspective, buy a duc gp bike with a winning history for 65k with a 3 year warrantee and miscellanious goodies or beg and plead to get on the list for one of the few buell RR's with no warantee for only 30k... |

I suppose you'll find a local duck dealer that's trained in the arts of working on that RR? |

Fast by Ferracci is alot closer than a decent Buell dealer around here. Couldn't ask for a better place with better credentials. |

This is laughable. Ducati usually gets slated on the BadWeB by all but a few. I might have to consider my resignation. Perhaps even defect to another forum. The hypocrisy here sucks Rocket |

I can't say that I have ever seen anything but the highest regard for Ducatis on this board. If I am not mistaken, it was Buell's (unofficial) market strategy to lure Ducati owners and would be buyers. |

My attitude has been that... I have the best handling bike on the planet. Except for the XB series. Ducati's are pretty darn good too. No, I don't want to argue with you, because if you don't have a Buell or a Ducati you have no freeking idea what I mean. Have a nice day. I wish I could afford the mirrors. Pretty. |

I don't know about the looks. It looks a bit too UJM for my taste. I've always looked at Ducati as making the sexiest bikes on the road. This one looks a bit bloated and the headlights bug me. Then again, if someone would like to be me one, I would be more than happy to ride it. |

Lots of RED plastic in those photos, what's the engine/frame/drivetrain look like? Wait, 65K? That's one 30K XBRR or 3 street Buells, one Honda 10K RC 51, two or three dirtbikes for 15K and a 10K vacation to go ride them all for a month or so. I guess I'll have to take a pass. Nice looking motor, how much does it weigh and the torque/HP probably "breaks the bank", right? |
