I just ordered this DVD from Amazon.com, "Long way round". It's a documentary about a trip around the world by Ewan McGregor. Look very interesting and the review are good.

Is someone has seen this movie?

Yes, It is pretty good. They had a support crew, but they still went through some pretty extreme challenges.

I think I have watched it 3 times through. The sections through Eastern Europe and Russia are fascinating. The last episode or two where they are in the US is a little weak, and I could have lived without the Tuttles making an appearance

I read the book and it was great!
At the end, there is a DETAILED itinirary and a DETAILED listing of supplies used on the trip.
A real eye-opener.

I thought it was a mini-series though.

Read the book and have seen the movie a few times, book is better than the movie for stories, but the movie is great for pics and adds to the story, once you've read the book.

It was a mini series, not sure what channel it was on though...

Read the book, then watch the movie is my recommendation.

watched the series on FOX reality, but I think it was originally on Bravo. I also bought the DVD. I've seen the book but not read it. Fascinating documentary though, really makes you ache to just go somewhere completely different and ride.

I recieved the DVD & book for Christmas. It took me about 3 days to read the book and another couple of days to watch the DVD. Both are good.

Also got a second edition copy of "Two Wheels to Adventure" by Danny Lisko. It details his travels along the Pan American Highway. Including this trek through the Darien Gap by boat & foot. Now THAT is an adventure!!!
