I have a 99 M2 I have a billet Dash which will fit a tach like a 2.4 mini Drag Specialties. I'm new to all this. I just need to know what one. I would think a ELECTRONIC one but do I need anything else.
I see it stays Tach adapter required for single-fire ignitions. Do I need this??? Thanks

John,

I didn't know the answer. I added a stock tach to my 2000 M2 and the instructions for that have the pinouts for the connections. I had to add two pins to one connector for the leads from the tach. Those mated with two existing pins to get the tach signal from the ECM to the tach.

Email me a jacker at midmaine dot com if you want me to email you images of the instructions.

I paid about $160 for the factory tack kit and that comes with the new dual mount bezel and everything else needed. I like the look of the tach matching the speedo in size and style. I probably look at the tach as much as the speedo so I like the full sized one.

Check with DaveS on the sponsors page, maybe he can get you a good deal on a closeout factory kit.

Jack

I have the drag Specialties tach and there are 4 wires red, green, blue, black. I do have a 99 M2 manual.
What I need to know is how do I wire this? Do I need to crimp the ends and where do the wires connect directly to the speedo unit under the tank?? I just don't know. I have the wiring diagram out of the manual for the Buell tach. Can anyone give me some help thanks.
