whats the easiest way to get the stock plugs out of the bar ends? Do they twist off or should i just pull on them? | ||

They are just pressed in. I pulled mine with pliers, not planning to re-use them though. | ||

Was browsing the other day for bar ends, and came across this site. http://www.hvmparts.com/universal.htm I am not going to order anything from them, but I got a chuckle how every pic on the page is of a Buell. Someone knows their bikes... | ||

hey johnnylunchbox - how do these compare to what's on an XB9R stock? heavier, lighter? since i ground mine down quite a bit in my lowside at the track - i'm in the market for a spare set. not going to install them just yet, but think its probably good to have a set "just in case" let me know thanks D | ||

Buellgirlie - are you referring to the little plastic caps on your clip-ons? I was not aware that any Buell came from the factory with bar ends of any sort. HVMP bar ends (for the XBR's) are 303 stainless, and weigh about 14 ounces each. The primary goal is vibration attenuation through pure mass. The secondary benefits are that they function as sliders, and because of the extra length will protect the levers in case of a tip over, and I haven't really done the math, but they may also protect the frame in certain horizontal situations (but don't quote me on that yet). Some people have even reported that the added mass may reduce headshake. |
